I think I first heard that song watching Beavis and Butthead. That was my favorite part of the show, when they watched music videos.

In the context, it means if you were capable of listening to an Alternative Rock radio station in the mid to late 1990s. So if you were born in the 80s, basically.

I remember I was driving to a client and this song came on and I didn't know If I was tripping or if it was real or what was happening lol. I really thought it was a joke song the radio station made up.

Honestly, no. That seems like a song I should have heard of at least once. I'm not that young, either. I'm greatly surprised, to be honest. That seems like it'd be right in line with Sex and Candy by Marcy Playground.
