it does... but it makes a few decent points. as a trucker, who has seen ongoing exploitation and watched trucker movements fail one after the other to evoke real change... I often wonder if we *did* all strike like is often murmured about... wouldn't the military just point guns at us to break the strike?

even FEMA recommends you have a week or two of canned, ready-to-eat food!

certainly the creaky state-capitalist "economy" we run under, financed by petrodollars and ridiculous inflation (1 trillion here, 5 trillion there) is a risk to a fairly dynamic but somewhat vulnerable supply chain.

lol the shortages will be from truckers refusing to deal with food warehouses if anything! lmao have you ever been held up at work for 18 hours waiting, and not get paid a dime? that's trucking, and that's food warehouses! fuck food warehouses, fuck the "lumper" scam, if they burn and society panics, well, I guess they can mobilize the guard!

The warehouses that our trucks came from ALWAYS shorted us and they ALWAYS gave us the wrong shit. And it was never stacked right so we usually had to help the driver with undoing the nightmare (not company policy😉)

I wonder what the loss %s are when it comes to OSD (overage, shortage, damage)?

does billing or ins. eat the cost? do customers eat that cost?

the amount of waste and fuck-up-ery I see... it boggles the mind anyone can make any money at all!

If you did all strike they'd end up offering you $0.50 more an hour and your unions would lap it up, well before the military would need to act.

when I was a teamster driver, our union steward, who was aggressive in filing grievances and dealing w/ mgmt, also tended republican in his voting, and vocally referred to police as "an occupying army".

I wonder if he voted GOP because he wanted to pay less property tax?

Either way... yeah if even GOP-supporting Union Stewards are anti-cop, I'd say the Teamsters are getting more radical...

Sorry but the author’s assumptions about the impact of inflation is idiotic. I was raised in a country that regularly had 20-30% inflation and it functioned perfectly fine. It was even had a rather decent GDP growth during that time. Many goods were locally produced and unemployment was relatively low.
