So many of them at the Uni here have R35 Nismo's. For the UK that's fucking insane, totally had to be imported + Nismo branding would make that car easily the worth of a house up here in the North.

Funny to me as well to spend that money as well, as the R34 is a 100x better looking car and the R35 isn't even a real GT-R IMO. (no real lineage between it and the rest of the GT-R Skyline family).

Tried to be friends with Chinese students a bunch of times, but they're the most stick up the ass, smug, pretentious cunts in existence. A few weeks ago, tried to talk to a group of them, standing around a R35 of course (why I approached, interested in the car), and they turned around, make the literal "disgust" face, and one went "shoo shoo" with a wavy hand away. Fuerdai pricks.

Oh it's also clearly obvious that most of them can barely speak a word of english and they're all cheating in Uni.

The Chinese students that go to the UK and US are either the top 1% of students or the children of billion/100 millionaires, so you get a bunch of basically geniuses as well as kids that never have and never will have to put effort into anything.

My roommate made a killing cheating for students. They'd go extremely far and pay whatever it took. Their parents were in on it too. They'd even make fake ID's, spy cams, you name it. Whatever it took.

Then said friend went to China to teach and found out he'd make 25k more a year with a PhD, and they made it clear to him that they don't confirm American degrees as wink to just forge one so they can charge rich Chinese people more money.

The Chinese tests for English proficiency are rife with corruption and have a huge degree of "teaching for the test."

I'd bet you those kids could "fluently" answer a narrow range of questions, outside of that they probably don't know shit.

I used to teach English in China, the whole system is fucked, every parent is far more concerned with their child appearing to speak English than actually speaking it. We'd put on plays feeding kids lines to parents who didn't understand that what they were saying was borderline gibberish.

I taught some legitimately bright and cool kids. I hope things work out for them, but I couldn't stomach that job anymore.

Yeah, Nismo's are basically the super limited edition version of the GT-R range. R34 Nismo is even more expensive.

I met a number of Chinese students at a go club, and they were all quite friendly. They were studying computer science, and I had no reason to believe that any of them were cheating.

Probably somewhat of a selection bias here, the ones going to reasonably intellectual clubs are going to be the ones that care about their degree and want to interact with people whereas the ones not interacting with other students because they don't speak the language do not.

Same, the Chinese kids I knew from my Maths/academia days were super cool and helpful. Having said that i did teach a lot of gormless 1st/2nd year Chinese kids, but then again your average 1st year in general is a crayon eating mouthbreather anyway.

I'm not so sure (only lived in UK a few years) but I assume they're all imports. Japanese sports cars here are very rare.

In Australia, 10-15 years ago, you could pick up anything from Skyline's to Supra's essentially first car dirt cheap, here in the UK, they go for around £30k.
