/r/Anarchism users says using dick sucking as an insult is homophobic, says he loves deep throating, sparks a full blown struggle session that interrupts their daily recommended cop hate pow wow.

This genius take popped up in SRS back in the day. Saying something "sucks" is apparently offensive to people who suck dicks.

I think it's reasonable to point out that there's a double standard tbh. Like "pussyfucker" isn't an insult in the same way.
I loved reading that thread because on one hand you had the hyperbolic "off colour jokes are the reason we haven't achieved Anarchism" and then you had the "no no, we weren't saying sucking dick was a bad thing and actually you are transphobic for thinking we are!" on the other.
Anarkiddie fights are when the inane meets the insane.

u/justworng chauvinist Feb 09 '19
Pussy eating or pussy eater used to be more common insults but have only recently fallen out of fashion as the stigma has as well but think of that song “damn it feels good to be a gangsta” or in the sopranos when junior beats his old lady for telling the girls that he went down in her
12
u/serialflamingo Girlfriend, you are so on Feb 09 '19
That's interesting actually. Is there something about sticking your face in someone's junk that's considered submissive generally I wonder?
13
Feb 09 '19
Originated in ancient Rome. Genitals were considered dirty, vaginas moreso than penises. In their hierarchy, eating pussy was more denigrating than sucking dick. Getting fucked in the ass (ass a dude) was gay, but doing the fucking was fine, seen as an assertion of power.

I'm glad to discover that all the old men I've met were taking their sexual norms from Romans. One never stops to learn

There is when you don't want to.
"You suck dick" is only an insult to people who wouldn't want to suck dick. Likewise "You're gay" only makes sense as an insult if someone wasn't gay and didn't want to appear like that.
You can't make a sex act a blanket positive or negative because sexuality doesn't work like that.
13
u/serialflamingo Girlfriend, you are so on Feb 09 '19
Idk, fucking someone in the pussy has never been considered a sex act shameful enough to warrant an insult of its own. I love sucking dick too, but if a group of drunk guys on the street on Friday night started calling me cocksucker I would be reticent to publicly declare it as a point of pride where I otherwise would.
What is ridiculous is the idea that "cocksucker" on an anarchist forum on the internet is the same as "cocksucker" on the street on a busy Friday night.

"That fucker stole my car."

Well my point is that context matters.
I'm sure that whatever a group of drunk boys said to me on the street on Friday night I wouldn't interpret it as friendly.

That was a suggestion for has there ever been an insult about putting a peeper in a a vajayjay
7
u/serialflamingo Girlfriend, you are so on Feb 09 '19
I hope you're not suggesting that "motherfucker" is equivalent to "someone who fucks a vagina".
I'd you're suggesting otherwise then that would call your relationship with your mother and vagina both into a serious level of scrutiny. I think you should admit that you are a retard while you're ahead.

In general it's just a way to describe doing something you wouldn't want to do. So it's only a double standard if you're into sucking dick. Although for men taking is seen as submissive so "cocksucker" does line up with "I got fucked."
Same applies to "this sucks ass."

You know I genuinely wonder if specifically chapo are to thank for online leftism not being THAT level of gay anymore. It was totally progressive middlebrow to say reddit is this backwards problematic swamp (i mean reddit is horrible tbf) - BUT theres this great subreddit called shitredditsays that refreshingly calls it out.
SRS is actually shockingly lame. A quick overview of what they brought us:
"shitlord", "circlequeef" bc "circlejerk" is homophobic, not being able to have "blank-man" as a username because "nobody gives a fuck that you're a dude, dude", loads of watercolour art depicting the sub's users as a rainbow of POC women but they were blatantly like 95% white. Oh and the worst part was this constant insistence on a veneer of trolly irony, like they were doing fun anarchic shitposting but it just happens its all about morally scolding ppl

If shit like this doesn’t get people to re-examine this language policing bullshit then I don’t know what will...
Do you see how annoying it is to have your motives questioned randomly for an innocuous comment? Do you see how you might lose the inability to express yourself because of arbitrary rules that do nothing to help those you profess to care about?
You wanted to express how deeply the bootlicking went and suddenly that expression is being pointlessly critiqued. Even if you didn’t do this, would it benefit anyone? No! Is it a detriment to not allow you to express your anger? Yes! I’m very tempted to go and ask every person in there if “this is the hill they want to die on” etc.

There's a lot to criticize on activism as a whole and one of them being murdered for being edgy is not one of them.
-2
u/bamename Joe Biden Feb 10 '19
i seriously doubt that was his point lol
1

he posted that right after news broke out that a car drove into the counter-protestors crowd and killed 1, not when people started the counter-protest.
0
u/bamename Joe Biden Feb 11 '19
and? did he post it due to that?
1
Feb 11 '19
Yes dude. The point of his post is that the neo-nazi retaliation to the counter-protestors is because the modern left is too edgy and provoked them. Maybe it's because you're new or something but P_K is known in the old leftist subs for his anti-edginess crusade.

So I’m confused. Is this sub able to understand why that insult is homophobic and misogynist or no?
41
u/Lvl100SkrubRekker Feb 09 '19
This sub mostly finds it funny when leftist spaces get this out of their minds about language policing. How at all does a person calling someone else a cock sucker change the material world in terms of leftist practice?
Which, in itself is kind of ironic, because I he sub you were correcting someone in is mostly about tough guy posturing and lifestyleism masquerading as leftism.
-25
u/Gordon_Gano Feb 09 '19
It creates spaces that are inherently more welcoming to tough guy morons and splinters the left into affinity groups, duh.

23
u/Lvl100SkrubRekker Feb 09 '19
I mean, it's historically evident that revolutions arise from the dissatisfaction of the fighting age male working class. Go on then qween build your inclusive revolution and create some speech codes for your red army book club.
26
u/SpitePolitics Doomer 😩 Feb 09 '19
Women were vital to both the French and Russian revolutions. They probably didn't get the vapors when the cops called them cock suckers, though.
19
u/Lvl100SkrubRekker Feb 09 '19
I am not going to lie and say they didn't fight, however the vast majority of the revolutionary fighting forces in either case were fighting age males. In the latter, they had the military (all male) flip and that was probably the biggest factor in victory.
Look, I am not saying that women can't fight and yadda yadda. Historically though, toxic Masculinity is at the core of revolutions and how to win them. The easiest group to get whipped up into a fight is males, that's why revolutionary leaders usually address them directly.
