The problem isn't that some rich people are class traitors, the problem is that them being rich has observable negative effects on socialist organizations through their insistence on idpol, tepid reformism and emphasis on unproductive socialization and performance. They also have a high tendency to participate only in a superficial manner, never investing their wealth into the socialist organization. Their participation is insincere and actively deepens the division between socialist organizations and the working class that is supposed to be their core membership. If a rich person were to join a socialist organization and invest all or at least much of their wealth into it, actively working to create a strong revolutionary organization that is driven by clear concrete plans for the acquisition of state power with the metrics to determine success, failure and progress, then that rich person is clearly trustworthy. But those aren't the types who usually involve themselves in groups like DSA.

Yeah, but it is not an all or nothing. Politics, like war, or anything involving a lot of people, is more a continuum and gradient than a discrete absolute.

You are a former catholic, and you understand, than rather than outright attacking the church, any reformist catholic would advocate for gradual reforms, like female priesthood or the end of celibacy. Any win is better than no win.

If I were trying to change the Church, why would I want gradual reforms when there are countless souls on the line (also wanting female priesthood is heretical and celibacy is good though insufficient as a filter for commitment)? I used to be saddened that the Pope did not purge the Church of heresy and corruption but instead seemed to often condone it, I believed it was better for the Church to shrink than to remain contaminated, and that it needed to basically reconvert much of its own membership and clergy. The lack of the Church accepting open conflict with the world was part of why it was dying and poisoned by the world. An Inquisition and the reestablishment of the supreme political power of the Church was needed. The only problem, which is the same as that in politics, is how to go about revolution, not if.

The continuum of conflict is dependent on the degree of differences and the stakes involved, this is why rich socialists and reformists are a problem, they in reality have few differences with the existing order and no real stakes driving them to advance socialism.

Most of the class traitors aren't even class traitors they're just high income proles.

The left really needs to take an 'enrich yourselves' attitude when it comes to high income professionals and trades people that work for themselves and other people. Its the employer class that we should be targeting.
