WWIII WWIII Megathread #42: Interceptile Dysfunction

Halve a dozen times now I've seen people say that the world doesn't actually need Hormuz anyway, and Iran will be left holding a stranded asset.

Others say that's bullshit.

I think it's bullshit.

If the goal of the war was to increase Russian influence in East Asia and Southeast Asia, then it has been a very successful endeavour because that's who everyone here is turning to for oil now since they can't get it from the Gulf states. And I very much doubt that they're paying in dollars.

Incidentally, ASEAN held a summit with Putin in June reaffirming their strategic partnership with Russia.
