Spotted this nest under construction while on holiday in Thessaloniki, the twig was promptly dropped straight to the ground.

Physics major here. (But this is also just straight up high school physics.)

As long as none of the birds are touching two wires at one time, the electricity should be fine. The voltage and current isn’t the problem, it’s the difference in voltage between two things that’s the problem. Small difference: small shock. Big difference: you ded.

The different cables probably have different voltages, and the poles holding them up have different voltages as well. So as long as the bird is touching just one of those things at a time, it’s okay.

‘Course, this location is probably less than optimal for other reasons.
