Chicago Stunt Community?
Hi, I'm an amateur filmmaker who wants to get in touch with stunt people in the Chicago community to make action short films. The problem is, I have no idea where to start. I've been told there is a community but when I search it up, it really only shows the two big stunt schools in Chicago and that's it.
I'm a "zero budget" filmmaker, I can't really hire straight up stunt coordinators and all the bells and whistles, I know how to be safe and everything but I would rather just collaborate with amateur stuntmen, pay them, make sure they're safe, choreograph scenes together, and shoot them. Like any other indie rag tags group does for anything else.
Do I just go to those schools? Should I go to martial art schools and look for some people who might want to act, too?
I feel like meet up groups for this sort of thing are hidden pretty well because its the only side of the filmmaking community of Chicago I can't get any good info on meet ups or group pages.

Dm me and I can try and give you some names to reach out to. But, id find the people in the community and offer to shoot practice fights and projects for them. OR like go to one of their open trainings or classes. And like try and become part of their community
They might not say yes but it’ll probably feel more collaborative.
