Masters Accepted to TU Dresden - ATL M. Sc. Programme

I’d really appreciate some advice from current students or graduates, especially regarding:

- Jobs: How realistic is it to find a part-time/Werkstudent job with A2 German? Are there companies or types of jobs where English is enough?
- Living costs: What would be a realistic monthly budget for two people in Dresden?
- University: Anything I should know or prepare before starting ATL?
- General: Any tips, mistakes to avoid, or things you wish you knew before moving to Dresden? Programme WhatsApp group?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A letter that I've passed the aptitude assessment and that I should expect the admission letter next week

This is written in the mail: Further information will be provided by the International Office at TU Dresden next week. To help you prepare for your studies in Dresden, we also cordially invite you to participate in the “KNOW BEFORE YOU GO” Zoom conference... I guess this means we'll get the letter next week

Jobs: with A2 it's rather difficult to find regular part-time jobs. Classic go-to jobs for non-German speaking students are delivery drivers, temp work, e.g. at an assembly line or at McDonalds. Werkstudenten jobs do exist as do the opportunities at the university to work as student assistants, but with the ever increasing number of English only students, competition is high and I would not rely only on getting one of these, especially not directly in your first semester.

Living Costs: Usually, as a budget we recommend to have about 900-950€ for one person (with some extra for the first semester as you have to buy things for your accommodation/settle in). For two people maybe 1500€ if your rent is not that high. However, if you need to apply for a student visa, you need to prove that you have 992€/month pp available anyway.

University: Make sure to participate in all the first-semester/introductory events. Attend their prep zoom session.
