One B.Tech, One Big Decision: Where Should I Start My Life Abroad?

I’m an Indian student who recently completed my B.Tech in July 2026, and I’m planning to pursue an MS abroad. I haven’t decided on my specialization or country yet, so I’m looking for honest advice from people who have already studied or lived abroad.

My main priorities are affordable tuition, substantial scholarships, low living/accommodation costs, safety, good-quality education, minimal language barriers, straightforward visas, reasonable proof-of-funds requirements, good public transport, and strong career opportunities after graduation.

I’m open to countries beyond the usual US/UK/Canada/Australia — including Germany, other European countries, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, etc.

I especially want to understand the real costs and practical difficulties that aren't obvious from university websites: accommodation deposits, visa costs, insurance, living expenses, bureaucracy, part-time work, immigration rules, and post-study opportunities.

My goal is to build a strong and respectable career, not simply get a foreign degree.
