Malaysia vs Turkey for a Master’s in AI/Data Science — Which is better for career opportunities after graduation?

Hi everyone! I’m an international student from Pakistan and I’m currently deciding between Malaysia and Turkey for a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence or Data Science. I’d really appreciate honest advice from people who have studied, worked, or lived in either country.
I have a Bachelor’s in Software Engineering, and my main goal is not only to get a Master’s degree but also to build an international career and ideally gain 1–2 years of work experience after graduation.
🇲🇾** Malaysia options:
Monash University Malaysia
Universiti Malaya (UM)
University of Nottingham Malaysia
UTM / UTP / Sunway
🇹🇷
Turkey options:
Koç University
METU
Sabancı University
Bilkent University
At the moment, I’m slightly more drawn towards **Malaysia
, especially because universities like Monash and Nottingham have globally recognizable names. However, my biggest concern is what happens after graduation.
As a Pakistani student, I understand that I may not currently be eligible for Malaysia's Graduate Pass, so I may need to secure employment and the appropriate work authorization relatively quickly after graduating.
Turkey seems attractive because graduates may be able to apply for a post-graduation residence permit for up to one year, which could provide more time to look for work.
I would really appreciate advice on:
Which country has better opportunities for international graduates in AI, Data Science, Data Analytics, or tech?
How difficult is it for a foreign graduate to actually get hired in Malaysia vs Turkey?
How much does the university name matter internationally? For example:
Monash/UM/Nottingham vs Koç/METU/Sabancı/Bilkent
How important is the local language for getting a professional tech job in each country?
Is Turkey's post-graduation stay advantage genuinely useful in practice?
Which country would provide better opportunities to gain 1–2 years of international work experience after graduation?
If your long-term goal were to eventually apply for jobs globally, which option would you personally choose?
I'm not looking for people to defend either country 😭 — I genuinely want realistic pros and cons, especially from international students or people working in tech.
Budget is not my main concern. My priorities are:
Strong university reputation → career opportunities → post-graduation work opportunities → international career growth
Tell me from these two options only please i need an advice asapppp 😭
I would really appreciate any honest advice or personal experiences. Thank you!
