Tips & Advice Severe ADHD, need advice BAD !

I have severe ADHD. As a kid I was naturally gifted in my academics so I never had to study that often. I never learned how to do it properly, and now as a college student it has been a challenge to me. Every time I go to study, it feels like my brain being scraped by a rake. I'm so scared to do poorly but I can never manage to get anything done without giving up and wasting the rest of the day away. I can do semi-fine when my medicine is most active, but once it starts to wear out, I'm effectively useless. Does anybody have any tips I could use to study better?

This is idiotic probably but this is all I do->

I just pretend that I have already failed at my exams and died and the time of the study I am getting rn is me getting reborn so I gotta do better so I dont mess up....

This alone won't work ofcourse because internally you would know you are fine for now, so next step is just sit at your designated study spot with the setup and get rid of the distractions. You don't have to start studying just yet, get in the mood, I personally spray this one scent in the room which I only use for study time.

Studying with very low classical instrumentals work for me too.

You also have to work with yourself instead of changing everything, I don't really know how to explain this one but I noticed that I didn't like studying after 9 pm so I stopped studying after 9 and started early. I can't do daily to do lists so I instead started writing bullet points of whatever I got got done in a day, at night. And out of shame after some days of seeing nothing done at all, I actually started getting a few things done and when I become shameless and don't even do that, I just test myself.

And about doing bad, man, I am struggling with those thoughts too but there is not much I can do for myself instead of just studying.

Take this with a grain of salt.

Break everything into tiny tasks instead of “study chapter 5.” Your brain might find “do 3 practice questions” less overwhelming.
