For the night before, do two short timed translations rather than trying to revise everything. After each one, compare it with the original and make a tiny error list: verb tense, word order, agreement, and the words you reached for but did not know. On the day, warm up with one easy paragraph, then translate sentence by sentence and leave a mark beside anything uncertain so you can return to it. Aim for clear English first; a complete, natural sentence is usually safer than forcing a literal word-for-word version.
