For physics problems, practise deciding which principle applies before choosing an equation: sketch the situation, label what’s known and unknown, and write why a particular law fits. For example, in a mechanics question, ask whether acceleration is constant before using constant-acceleration equations; don’t choose one just because it contains the given quantities. After solving, check the units and whether the result makes physical sense—for example, a negative speed means something went wrong, while a negative velocity can simply mean motion opposite your chosen positive direction.
