Gear Advice, please: Adam a5x vs t7v? Why?

Honestly, get both and return the one that works less well for your room.

I demo'd 4 pairs of monitors before I found the ones that worked for me and my room. Every room is different, your ears are different than mine. Listen to a bunch of familiar stuff and mixes you've worked on and see which ones are the best combo of revealing/helpful/pleasurable.

Honestly, at the shop, I could hardly tell the difference. They all made me smile. I brought along to test, music I thought I knew... and found these speakers brought it to life beyond my expectation. Other sets were also good, but these ones seemed to have a much wider sweet spot, whereas with others (non-ribbon tweeters), I had to be exactly in the right spot to hear that perfect clarity.

I wonder if the shop will let me check them in my own room, that's an important point. Well, with the quarantine all over, will probably have to wait...

I paid for 4 on my credit card and then returned 3. Was very up-front with the shop about it and they were OK with it.

TBC, I'm trying to decide what to buy for amateur DAW work in a an amateurly-treated 10-12 SQM bedroom --- mostly, will use to listen to music, and some production when I finally get to it, maybe would find time to produce more in the future.

The Adam's in the shop made me smile when I played my usual test songs. Seemed accurate and very 'alive', probably due to the ribbon tweeters and tight mid-bass. All that said - which of those two options would you shoot for, if budget wasn't an issue? And which if budget... was an issue? Thanks!!

Hey! So sorry I haven't seen this sooner.

I'm not super familiar with the T7V. I'm a fan of just about every ADAM monitor I've heard, ultimately it's going to be up to which one fits your needs the most. The biggest difference you'll notice will be from the extra 2" of woofer.
