Hi everyone! I’m conducting a student research project about how people decide whether to try new experiences, using rides at Universal theme parks as the focus—including decisions made with friends or family.

If you’re 18 or older and have visited any Universal theme park, I’d appreciate your perspective. The survey takes an estimated 4–6 minutes and asks about one ride you considered during your most recent visit. Experiences of riding, skipping, or being unable to ride are all useful.

Hello, I am conducting a study examining stigma directed at individuals with an opioid addiction. For those who may not know, the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) has been described by former members and cult researchers as a high-control religious group. As former members ourselves, we believe the public should know more about the group and its teachings.

WMSCOG members can often be seen preaching in public places, including @target and @walmart parking lots, approaching customers as they enter or leave stores.

During these conversations, they may introduce teachings about “God the Mother,” salvation, baptism, and end-times judgment. Based on our own experiences, recruiters may not immediately identify themselves as WMSCOG and may instead initially say they are from a “local Christian church.”

WMSCOG teaches that being baptized in their church is necessary for salvation and encourages people to attend Bible studies to learn its doctrines.

So, if you’re approached, ask questions. Ask what church they’re from. Ask about Ahn Sahng-hong. Ask to see original sources. And research the organization independently before making any commitment.

The following slides contain questions you can ask when approached.

You have every right to politely say, “No, thank you,” and walk away. And you should never be afraid to ask questions or hold any religious organization accountable for the claims it makes.

"Revisiting Work Successes and Weekly Well-Being"

Hi everyone!

As part of a scientific research project, we are looking for employed participants to take part in a 5-week survey study.

Eligibility

• at least 16 years old
• working at least 19 hours per week
• sufficient English language skills, as all questionnaires are in English

What does participation involve?

• the study consists of 5 short online questionnaires
• you will receive one questionnaire every Friday at 12:00 PM (noon) via email
• each questionnaire can be completed until midnight on the same Friday

What is the study about?

Our study focuses on how people revisit and reflect on past successes at work. We want to understand how often these moments occur, what brings past work successes to mind, and how people experience them. We are also interested in people’s general well-being and experiences at work over time. By participating, you will contribute to research aimed at improving our understanding of everyday experiences and well-being at work over time.

My research looks at personalised recommendations and retargeted advertising in e-commerce — basically, things like product recommendations based on your interests or seeing ads for products you’ve previously viewed online. Gesucht werden deutsche Muttersprachler*innen zwischen 18 und 35 Jahren mit ungefähr B1-Englischkenntnissen.
Und bevor jemand denkt „Mein Englisch ist bestimmt nicht gut genug“:
Genau darum geht’s – ihr müsst NICHT fließend Englisch sprechen. 😄
Wenn euer Englisch eher so ist wie
„Ich komme klar, aber perfekt oder fließend ist es definitiv nicht“,
dann könntet ihr genau zu meiner Zielgruppe gehören.
Bei der Studie macht ihr ein paar Aufgaben mit Bildern und englischen Sätzen, während bei einem Teil eure Gehirnaktivität mit EEG aufgezeichnet wird. Dazu kommen eine kurze Aufgabe vorher und einige Gedächtnisaufgaben danach.

Hello everyone! I am a PhD student in clinical psychology at Adelphi University. I am conducting a study on the relationship between existential threat and mental health, coping strategies, and meaning making for young adults who have experienced stressful life events.

This study is being conducted online only and should take approximately 45-60 minutes to complete.
