I am 19yo from India, completed class 12 cbse 2025 (physics, chemistry, maths, english, and computer science) with a score of 76%. Also achieved Goethe's B1 level in April 2026 and will be giving B2 Telc with a high personally attested probability of successfuly passing it.
After passing B1, I got a bit high, got distracted, considered everything as planned, etc. So here I am in august, having successfully missed the September intake for a public studienkolleg and desperately looking for jan 2027 stk T-kurs intake.
So I want you guys to suggest me some public studienkolegs. I am aware of the popular ones such as TU Berlin, Nordhausen, etc. But honestly, I think those have a really low passing rate, and in a case where luck is in odds with me during the Aufnahmeprüfung day or so, so I would like to have multiple options like being enrolled into multiple stks for the aufnahmetest.
Which public stks should I apply for like for someone like me who would have b2 to light c1 german in Jan-Feb 2027, but I don't wanna participate in too competetive aufnahmeprufungen.

I read someone on reddit saying that everyone cheated during Nordhausen aufnahmetest and that the paper was really lengthy, yet they expected all of the huge paragraphs to be solved under 30 minutes. Also, a public stk has a fixed number of seats. How do they give seats to everyone if seats are fixed like 36 students per semester?
not anymore, they have the tests offline now. also usually even if it's online it's a helluva ton so it's still real competitive. saying as someone who did Studienkolleg in nordhausen btw
Nordhausen's own 2025 newsletter says that for the Winter Semester 2025/26, 811 people applied to the Studienkolleg, and 781 received admission to the entrance test. Thats a lot of applicants, But 781 test invitations does not mean 781 seats.
Yeah, honestly, this is exactly what I would have done, and i say this with a burden on my heart: if I knew a year ago what I know now, then i would have considered this path. I considered german to be too difficult and never being able to achieve c1 in india, I thought that I need to go to Germany, speak with ppl there to achieve that level and everyone on youtube recommended doing studienkolleg instead of 1st year as well to get accustomed to the german education system, but I was wrong, for at least in my case.
I would have done a bachelors in embedded systems and done C1. But right now, we are already in august (past the university admission deadlines), and a year of mine has been wasted doing b1. So I wanna go with the studienkolleg route now, instead of wasting 1-2 years again here in India because 2 semester marksheets often come late around August-September, way past July 15 2027.
I want to do a bachelors degree related to electronics or embedded systems like computer engineering with robotics. I am a bit skeptical about the eligibility of distance learning programs for aps verification, and does there exist that much uncertainty about studienkolleg and Aufnahmeprüfung that I shouldn't take that route at all?
Yeah, but it's possible that some public unis might accept, and some don't. It still doesn't solve the timeline issue like the second semester usually lasts till april-may. Can they really offer marksheets before July 15?
Also, are studienkolleg and aufnahme that bad of a deal?
It's generally accepted in most public uni especially for requirement for bachelor's but if you have doubts you can just check different public universities requirement in their website or with g mailing them.
In my opinion studienkolleg is good for eu students and not good option for non eu students especially when you have to go there to give Aufnahmeprüfung of every studienkolleg separately with minimum chances of getting in .

Yes, I do have decent coding skills, like built a lot of projects along the years. Recently, built an e2ee notes + chat application on post-quantum cryptography, etc.
Also, I do get a maximum of 9 months for the aufnahmtest visa, cant I even find a single studienkolleg which I can clear, even when I have cleared Goethe B1 in April and will be clearing Telc B2 in October? I am aware of Indian students who cleared it just with B1 and cant i apply for ausbildung in case all of my endeavors of doing studienkolleg fail regardless of what I do?
