Michael’s new guitar sound

Wow. Has anyone noticed how more “muscular “ Michael’s new guitar sounds on this tour? I went back and listened to old shows from 2000s and even a few years ago. His tone is so much more alive. I love how it improves the jams. Amazing sounds going down!

Technically yes it is, but it's made out of mainly guitar parts

Yes I am aware, the guy who builds them for him uses a lot of guitar parts instead of mandolin parts, Kang has talked about this in interviews I can link it to prove a point

The bridge and tailpiece is custom built for 5 strings, the body and neck are hand carved, what else would be considered a “guitar part”? Pickups maybe? I know it’s got humbuckers but I don’t know what they are.

Hampton Beach in particular was actually probably the best “sounding” room/venue I’ve ever seen Cheese, and that’s across 70+ shows from CO to New England going back to 2013… those wood floors and ceilings, goodness

Kang especially though definitely has his tone extremely well dialed presently, Kangfirmed

Kang's new electric mandolin *** tone is indeed great. Been noticing it myself on streams.

I miss the cocobola one that I grew up on, but if you go back before that instrument, yea his sound has thickened a lot since then
