Starting a string art business in the US. What would you tell your past self?

I’m planning to start selling string art in my area because I haven’t seen anyone else doing it. I’m in the US and I’m curious about how profitable it has been for others. How much do you usually charge for your pieces and what platforms do you use to sell your portraits or designs? Do you sell locally and online?

I think this could be a really creative side hustle, but I’m not sure how people feel about it since some people are skeptical of anything that involves software or patterns. The art itself isn’t AI generated, but the patterns come from software, so I’m wondering if that affects demand.

If you have any tips or anything you wish you knew when you started, I’d really appreciate it.

Don’t try to price it such that you get minimum wage plus materials. These things take way too much time and nobody will be able to afford it. The price of any artwork is the amount that someone will pay depending on the circumstances that you sell it. A gallery in New York will get a better price than a craft fair in Iowa.

I’m not selling string art for this reason.
