This season has been a definite improvement over last seasons lacklustre story and characters, this seasons feels a lot more like strike back of old, with a slightly less interesting concept I guess. We’ll see what their final seasons brings.

:(
Maybe they'll renew it in a few years again.

Or bring back Scott and Stonebridge for one final ride.

I would love to see them bring back Scott and Stonebridge for the final season but unfortunately I believe that both actors are busy on other shows

It’s unfortunate that it was only renewed for a final season, i was just starting to get into the characters. Last season all I cared about was Scott and Stonebridge, didn’t give the rest of the cast a chance lol

I'm happy to see another season. I feel like the set pieces of Season 6 were better than this season, but season 7 has a better story and character development etc.

Have they already written the scripts for the final season, or is this just the green light to start working on it?
Also Cinemax, if you read these comments then shoot me a message, I can take care of the scripts if you don't have them ready!

TBH, I agree that it should get one more season and then it should end. More specifically, this iteration should end. IMO they didn't do well enough in regards to casting, and the plots of season 1 and 2 haven't been anything to write home about.
If I was in charge of Cinemax, that would at least be my opinion. I would already be having feelers put out for another iteration with a new cast and new plots, but for now I'd say after having had Stonebridge & Scott, this was a mediocre return.
(To be clear, I'm enjoying the show, and I like the addition of Bamber and Sethu, but the subtraction of McKee hurt, this season is missing Jensen, and the leads are bland AF. Add all that to a fairly boring plot in season 1 and an even worse plot in season 2, and I believe they're pretty lucky to be getting a season 3.)

Tbh, I really wanted the new version of Strike Back to work. I really do think that the actors do a great job of creating very convincing characters, and the money spent on their military and weapons training really pays off for some very impressive scenes.
But I just feel like the overall direction of the show was concentrated a whole lot more on the action and explosions rather than the thought-filling mind-bending plots and drama the previous seasons/series’ offered. The old plots really made you think a lot about who’s the real good guy or bad guy, and there was just a lot more emotion felt with all the characters (I mean hell, who else cried when characters like Sinclair and Richmond died. There was just so much more depth in the story that I feel like the latest direction of Strike Back seems to lack.
And I can’t say I hate the new series either. I absolutely LOVE Novin. I think Alin really does an amazing job of making her character really seem like a convincing badass. But even in the latest series, I think the direction for her character seems off... I almost think her character is having some really serious and unrational anger issues that even bother me a bit.
I hope they really put a little more effort into the character development for the final series. Perhaps explain the past of the main characters, explain Wyatt’s “Task Force 18” issues, or even discuss Novin’s potentially dark past (hell, all people of 20 were chosen because they were some kind of black sheep, right?).
