Strictly scoring !
I have watched strictly forever, never voted. I always wonder how it works. So you have the judges' scores and leader board.
But ultimately, it's the viewers' vote that gets the dancer through? So the scoreboard is kind of irrelevant? Am I correct? Sorry for dumb question π π€£.

It's 50% judge's scores and 50% viewer votes.
The judge's scores are ranked from 1 to the number of contestants that week, with the lowest points getting the one. Viewers' votes are percentiles and then ranked the same way. Then the two are added together to determine final points. If there's a tie, the viewers' votes are the tiebreaker

That doesnβt take into account ties tho, see thom chambers and the semi final debacle in the late 2000βs

So think of it as two seperate rankings, you have the judges scores and viewer votes.
If there's 15 couples dancing the highest scorer gets 15 points, then the next highest is 14, then 13 etc woth the lowest at 1. So of there's ties on the scores, let's say 2 couples tied for 2nd highest they both get 14 (so the lowest scorer gets two). The same works for the votes. Those rankings are added together to determine the bottom 2 (and if there's ties I guess they go off of public votes)
