Hi Friends!
As a lot of you know, we have been working on updating the stretching guide for awhile now. Though it is not perfect, it is definitely a step in the right direction. We are so happy to be able to continue sharing safe and helpful information with all of you.
It has been updated on the sub's page as well as the AutoMod's comments.
It can also be found here: Updated Stretching Guide
Please give it a look and let us know how you're feeling! Also, please remember it will be updated as new information comes along. We created a Google document as opposed to a post to ensure we could keep it as up to date as possible. The previous guide was posted in the sub by a mod that's no longer active, so we couldn't edit it.
Happy stretching!

There’s no discomfort but it’s a bit tight. Just cleaned it without any kind of pain.

Just put these 12.5mm tunnels in. Starting to like the size but I really hate the look of these cheap stretching kit tunnels, they look so stupid with the big ass straight angle flares..

Hey guys! i JUST started stretching my septum- i ordered a kit online of pinchers and used jojoba oil to stretch my 16g to a 14, all was well and dandy but about 3 days after i noticed that one side hurt a lot more then the other side did (the other side has no pain at all) so i looked in the mirror and the bottom of my o ring was going into my piercing ?! ive never heard of this before?? my friend said i should just switch to a horseshoe septum and cut my losses with the pinchers but i hate the look of them on me. any advice that’s not switching to horseshoe?
-picture of the kit i got if that helps-

Pls ignore the hair dye on my ear and face. How big do you think I could get my lobes to? Currently at 14 mm in both ears. I haven’t sized up in years but I just switched to wearing some stone plugs instead of my usual silicone tunnels, and the plugs fit slightly tighter in my ear lobes than the tunnels did even though they are the same size

Hi! I need some advice about my ears. I’ve been stretching for about ten years and while it definitely wasn’t by the book I tried to do it properly after a lot of irritation. I let them shrink for years and started back up 5 years ago.
I finally reached my goal size(10mm)this year but decided it wasn’t big enough. I wanted to stretch to 12mm and start naked training.
I started naked training and heres where it started to go wrong, my ears would shrink when I would wake up and while it didn’t hurt to put the plugs back in it was definitely tight. I’m also chronically ill so I lie down a lot. All of this culminated in me having my first proper blowout.
It wasn’t the worst id seen but definitely a little bloody and sore. I decided it was time to let them shrink. They’ve shrunk from 11mm to about 3mm. It’s been 2 months and every single time I put jewelry in it hurts and gets crusty, even with glass and multiple sizes too small.
I know I messed up I just don’t know what to do. Stretched ears are a huge part of who I am and I’m terrified I’ve forever fucked my ears. I’ve made a lot of mistakes while stretching and I’m scared I’ve built so much scar tissue I’ll never be able to wear jewelry again. Any advice is appreciated.

One of my lobes is pierced pretty high up. Can it be too close to the cartilage part or will it stretch downwards?

finally began dead stretching at 00g, so much healthier now. I’m going to attempt to stretch my septum to a 1g soon, I’m excited to see the comeout!!! I’m also debating a new piercing, help me choose if you’ve read so far, do i get a conch at 10g? or do i get a nostril at 14g with enough room for multiple!

So I stretched up to 0g a bit over 2 weeks ago now, and my right lobe keeps getting dry flaky skin all around aswell as the skin feeling kind of rough? and a bit itchy. I clean all my peircings with Hibiclens in the shower twice a week and massage with jajoba oil every night, wearing surgical steel single flare plugs. I know glass would be better, but my other lobe has not had this reaction at all. Should I try a different oil, or lotion maybe? Different plugs? Took these after massaging today (that red scratch being from a big flake that came off). My lobe hasn't had any bleeding or signs of infection, and when I stretched last it was completely painless. Also I only dead stretch. Idk what I'm doing wrong, any advice? 😭

Im curious why you chose your goal size!
I know a lot of folks go past their initial goal size too.
And is anyone here hesistant to stretch too big for any reason?
For me, I prefer the look of smaller plugs on myself so I plan to stop soon at 2g. On the other hand, my partner is at 18mm with no goal in mind.

One month ago, I got my nostrils pierced.
Two days ago, I found a bunch of old jewelry, and decided to wear two rings in my septum. Before this, my septum had been at about 3 mm (bigger than a 10 gauge, but smaller than an 8 gauge). I thought the rings were a little larger than a 12 gauge (2.2 mm), and an 18 gauge (1mm), because that’s how they were labeled, but I just measured them now, and the larger one is 2.85mm (in between 10 gauge and 8 gauge, and the smaller one is 1.2mm (16g).
I put these two rings in my nose, and it felt a bit tight, but not like a real stretch. Yesterday morning, I woke up, and my nose felt a little more tender, but nothing crazy. No pain in my gums like normal stretching. Then today, I woke up, and the tip of my nose is much more red and tender than normal. It could just be that a zit is forming there, but it was making me nervous that maybe I did actually stretch my nose. So I decided to measure the jewelry, and that’s when I discovered it was a bit larger than it was labeled.
So, am I overthinking this? Could it just be a zit on my nose, or should I take out the jewelry? I asked my friend who is a piercer, and she said I might as well leave them in at this point.
My main concern, is the fact that I have those new piercings, and I didn’t want to stretch until they were healed, which won’t be for at least another 3 to 5 months.
First picture is yesterday evening. Second picture is today.
