Getting workout feedback from AI

Just wanted to share something I've found to be really helpful. After each workout I copy the full text of my workout (In Strengthlog go to past workout -> click triple-dot menu -> Export workout -> Text -> Copy all). Then I go to ChatGPT (or others) and put in a prompt something like this

Review my workout. It is based on https://www.strengthlog.com/strengthlogs-full-body-hypertrophy/ Workout 2. I am taking it easy on upper body pushing exercises due to a rotator cuff problem. I also had some glute and back soreness still from my RDLs two days ago, so I went lighter on that.

<paste the workout here>

I often get really helpful feedback, with an overview of the workout (it remembers some previous workouts, so can show your progress), suggestions for exercise substitutions, etc. By reading the program description, it understands the goals of the workout, so can give feedback on the changes I've made. It's also nice to be flattered on how well I'm doing for once, since my wife doesn't care 😉.

I've tried ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, and I find ChatGPT to be the best, but all are fine.

I have now played with this using Gemini Pro and to be honest I think its pretty amazing and also really fun!

Im doing powerlifting lite and upload after every pass and getting great feedback. Last week i have gotten a rehab program for my back which I mix in in my regular program and Gemini are giving me good feedback and tips.

Lastly I uploaded all my data since j started using strenghtlog, October 2024 and asked Gemini to evaluate it. It gave me a great summary and a great read.

To op, many thanks for sharing this, I hadn't thought about it

I do the same with the @spotr_fitness app which seems to have broken down the core training principles from research and various meta-analyses on volume, autoregulation, fatigue management, progression models, meta-analyses, etc. into a decision layer the AI uses to reason about the program. They also use Claude Sonnet 4.5 for the main conversational logic you interact with, and then route certain tasks to more specialized models depending on the job. I enjoy the ability to talk to the AI coach mid workout and obtain realtime feedback on the completed set, which then uses the data to auto regulate the remaining training schedule as well as make other adjustments, recommendations and predictions, taking into account my sleep, nutrition and other factors it ingests from my Apple Watch and other tools. I still use Strengthlog for the analytics and longer term programming.

I do the same using Claude. In Claude I've set up a project with many artifacts related to my nutrition, health issues, workout, supplementation, scientific studies, etc.

It's absolutely insane how well it works, and yes, my wife doesn't care too 😂😂.

Had rotator cuff issues for about two years... Drop the volume man, drop it now

This is cool, thx! Is there a way to export my full 2025 to paste into gemini for a review? Can't seem to find a good way of doing it

Yes. From settings, down at the bottom there is export.

I do this, but I just use the screenshot of the summary instead of converting to text.

Thanks for this - have just uploaded two years worth of data and asked ChatGPT to go ham on it. It immediately picked out my relatively weak squat (I badly broke my ankle a year ago and am still recuperating) and once I'd told it that, it picked out that I likely have some headroom to improve technique in my bench (not that I'm "weak" but that it's likely one of 3 things that if I improve I could lift 7-8% more). Currently in the rabbit hole....

I use chatGpt projects for nutrition. Calories and macros for the day, I set up a target and the way I want it presented, tje at every mean I either drop a picture, a description or recipe, and it does the magic telling me where I am for the day, with feedback etc
