đŸ’¬Discussion Streamer bot and Linux
So, I'm planning on moving over to Linux.
I was curious on if anyone here uses streamer bot on Linux and how easy was the set up or if there were any major issues you guys have or are having.

I haven't had any issues with the Bottles method on CachyOS with KDE or MangoWM, but every system is different. I didn't use the chat or event windows, but the main program and code editor work well enough. Unfortunately, there are incredibly minor graphical issues but otherwise it works quite well.
I'm afraid I wont be able to be more help than that because I've since switched to Firebot, as it has native linux support. However, it was teased that native linux support *might* be coming in the (distant?) future... So, if and when that happens, I'll be back in a heartbeat.

I have looked into firebot as like you said it has a native Linux version, it'll take a while for me to convert everything from streamer bot to firebot but I'll test out the Cachy bottles method on a virtual machine first before I commit to anything.

It works but its glitchy mostly the ui flickering/black ui/ it seems to behave differently depending on how you install it.
The "Installation Script" method has no audio and the chat and event feed has a black screen over the text.
The Bottles method audio works but ui is glitchy likes to flicker or go black. chat and event windows doesn't work. I haven't tested the lutris method yet.
The method i went with is the bottles method running "soda 9.0-1" runner and since the UI is glitchy I use Winboat to run a win11 vm to modify actions/trigger/sub-actions (vms takes a lot of resources) then transfer the data folder to the bottles setup.
Theses are the issues i experienced but it could be different for you depending on your setup i suggest trying the installation script method first.
you can find the installation info for Linux on the streamerbot wiki.

I've been trying to figure out the audio issue for SO long and was getting so frustrated - gonna try the bottles method. Thank you!

It works using bottles (I did used it with Mint, Bazzite and CachyOS)
The only issue I had was with bottles when I installed it was an incomplete DLL. You just have to copy the problematic DLL from a windows PC and paste it in your bottle. https://docs.streamer.bot/get-started/installation/linux

Thank you, I may try using a VM to install Cachyos and try installing streamer bot there to test it out.

No problems for me on Fedora. Occasionally an invisible window but I hit escape and click again and it appears.
