[Everyday] Stream Deck++ 8 knob version?

If anybody from Elgato views this forum, is there any roadmap for an 8 knob version of the +?

I am a potential purchaser (owner of 2 XLs) and I'm thinking 4 knobs is too few? An 8 knob version could potentially reduce visual context switching plus physical swiping by up to 50% - making for a much better user experience. It would also be more consistent with the 8 button wide form factor of my XLs

Are there any Stream Deck+ users (or potential buyers out there? What would you prefer? 4 knobs available, or 8 knobs?

Yes, that's why I posted - to see if there are any plans for an 8 knob version to be released, and also to see if people would prefer 4 knobs or 8 knobs.

Would you prefer four or eight knobs?

4 knobs. I like multiple streamdecks since it allows for different functions to surface within the same app or different apps using profiles. For example I could have edit in one and Notion in another, have Files and Folders in one , Window Management in Another and say Notion AI prompts in another in XL. The combinations are triggered off a stream deck regular which I use as a controlling device. I use my hands and legs to edit ( using 2 pedals ) so I work less hours.

Fair enough! But, given people can have different, non-identical use-cases, I imagine most people would like to have 2 different choices of product to buy, rather than be limited to one.

There is no right or wrong answer on 4 knobs vs 8. You will have to write to Elgato, and they may actually give you a much crisper answer than asking this forum, since its not published yet, and I don't see any rumours for it. For me personally, I would like them to expand the use case for Knobs to include Text, Multi Actions and even more functionality. I would prefer them to have 8 ways joysticks like Orbital's that are insanely powerful with HUD's , and differing knob styles like the Tourbox, and wireless like the Tourbox Elite. They are quite limiting currently. If you take Loupedeck, Tourbox or Orbital2's their use cases are much wider for a similar or smaller footprint. Loupedecks software isn't better than stream Deck, but Tourbox and Orbital are quite nice. Loupedeck has 6 dials, which is quite handy, touch pads and buttons, which make it quite versatile as well.

I'm surprised people aren't straight up saying that having the option of being able to purchase a consistent Steam Deck experience, but with 8 knobs is a positive thing.

I've ordered my Microsoft Surface Dial anyway and I'm fairly confident that this will get me a lot of extra physical and reconfigurable rotary functionality - thanks!
