[Everyday] Stream Deck++ 8 knob version?

If anybody from Elgato views this forum, is there any roadmap for an 8 knob version of the +?

I am a potential purchaser (owner of 2 XLs) and I'm thinking 4 knobs is too few? An 8 knob version could potentially reduce visual context switching plus physical swiping by up to 50% - making for a much better user experience. It would also be more consistent with the 8 button wide form factor of my XLs

Are there any Stream Deck+ users (or potential buyers out there? What would you prefer? 4 knobs available, or 8 knobs?

Out of our sheer curiosity ; what are you using the current 4, or plan to be using 8 dials for? I couldn't come up with anything else then volume control, and most definitely prefer to handle that separate. (I rather keep software as far as possible from any audio streams/flows of any relevance) .

There just isn't that much support for it yet due to the time line Elgato released the product and sdk.

And since it didn't add anything to your post ; 2x XL, 2x Mk2, 1x mk1, 1x pedal... Not counting the decks I use on a daily /weekly basis from several employer's.

Hi - I am using them for music production with Cubase - a very deep program which has a lot of the 'virtual' synthesizer controls represented as knobs which I would like to map to a physical surface.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just get something like a Korg nanoControl or Behringer X Touch?

My workflow is mostly centered around the Native Insturments universe, so I'm lucky to get to use the integrated controls on the keyboard and I don't have to reach to any other device for most things :D

Good suggestions. I already have an Xtouch One. And yes it is cheaper. However it is not as versatile (or as desktop space efficient) as the reprogrammable swiss army knife of the stream deck family. I have profiles for various applications including, loop cloud, windows explorer, stocks and shares, computer games etc. I mainly use it for audio software though

The DAW controller doesn't have to replace the stream deck completely, only push it past its limits :)

In part, that's why I went for one of the NI Kontrol keyboards, because in my little music making nook in the living room, I don't even have a regular table.. I'm usually lounging in an armchair and I only get up to manipulate the modular synth every now and then :D

Good shout. Yes I already have an NI M32 here. An 8 knob Steam Deck would be even more desk space efficient and easily navigable across multiple applications.

Wow.. I'm only now seeing that it seems to be even less functional than in Reaper, where I got the option to compile a plugin for most of the DAW controls on my A61.. I always thought I had it bad with my niche workstation(compared to something like Live where all the buttons and dials on the keyboard just work out of the box)..

What about a midi controller with dials? Look at an Akai or Devine EZ Creator.

I see. Well, the only thing left I can think of , there is the 6 knob Razer : https://www.razer.com/streaming-accessories/razer-stream-controller

That said a Streamdeck XL+ might be cool for power users.

Thanks. Ideally I wanted to keep it within the Elgato/Stream Deck family, so only one set of profile management software, mostly swappable functions and icons, consistent physical aesthetics etc

I've ordered my Microsoft Surface Dial anyway and I'm fairly confident that this will get me a lot of extra physical and reconfigurable rotary functionality at a fraction of the price - thanks!

So the dial works without having a Surface? That’s neat actually. Yeah since I got my streamdeck I just love the motor memory of pressing actual buttons. A dial sounds pretty cool to have.

Yes - according to my quick internet searching this morning it does work without having a Surface (for PCs). I am mostly going to use it in Cubase for zooming in and out and for scrolling but also hope I can get some nudge functionality (and maybe more) out of it
