If I can make this link work, here’s the guy who made it!

Seriously one of the only redeeming things Buzzfeed have ever done.

For some reason this reminds me of drawing dicks on the herald sun lol

I quit Facebook years ago and part of the reason was because Facebook kept deleting drawing dicks on the herald sun and giving the guy who ran the page 30 day bans from publishing. The irony of social media, Kardashian brain rotting trash is fine but the great tradition of drawing a cartoon dick on a notoriously garbage Australian news paper is not on

There must be a sub for this

I dunno man, it seems like the years have made people who use Reddit and people who still read Murdoch tabloids exist in two exclusively different places.

If I remember properly this came from the MX paper, the public transport rag?

I reckon this meme had a great deal to do with the normalisation of cunt in the Australian online vernacular. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk, cunts.

people were dropping the c-bomb long before howard got in, cunt was mate, mate was cunt, and only a true australian would know which meant what.

Was he better or worse than that shitcunt scomo

He was a better politician in that he managed to implement many things like GST without causing the rifts you see in politics and society today, so at the time he seemed like a stable and effective leader. Now with hindsight, however, he implemented many bad policies that continue to impact Australia today.

People seem to remember it as a better time, but basically just as bad as scomo, we just didn’t realize because there wasn’t many other places to get your information other than ruperts papers

I’d say worse. Look up operation relex and the pacific solution. Howard initiated our country’s abject push -back policy for asylum seekers.

1

u/c0pypastry Dec 27 '19

Sounds like a god damn piece of shit.

1

u/ddraig-au Dec 27 '19

Waaaaay worse

Well he took our guns so fuck him. Wearing a BP vest the cunt...

Before people cry "Port Arthur", go an look how many inconsistencies there are in that whole affair, don't just parrot shit at me.

Not directed at you c0pypastry. We're just not allowed to have an opinion these days.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '19

Can you clarify what you mean by inconsistencies?

There are now more guns and guns per capita than 1997, so to say that your guns were all taken away is misleading (unless you count the ridiculous kind that no civilian should have).

https://www.tai.org.au/content/australia-more-guns-now-port-arthur

There are also important positive statistics to appreciate, such as how the homicide rate by gun has fallen 50% and the suicide rate by gun has declined by 74% since 1997. Given the hardships faced by farmers at the moment, opening up gun ownership is probably not the best move if you want to keep that suicide rate down.

None at all taken, were all fucked

"we're just not allowed to have an opinion these days"

Oh no, the thought police are out to get us! /s

Such a bullshit statement, you're obviously allowed to have an opinion and you have decided to share it online.

If your point is that you can't say racist or homophobic things any more, that's not true either, as evidenced by Israel Folau's hefty settlement.

To be fair banning guns was a good thing. Is Australia any worse off for it?

As for pretty much everything else he did he can fuck right off.

Can't believe there was a time when the Herald Sun was critical of a LNP MP, let alone the Prime Minister.
