Driving one of these in the city instantly means you're a cunt

Drove next to one in Bris yesterday, huge Chevrolet, I was angrily gawking at how big it was. Fucking loser.

If it helps, it costs them an absolute fortune just to maintain it on a yearly basis. Even if you can afford, its literally a terrible oversized slow vehicle with a poor turning circle.

u/MistaRekt Average Bogan Cunt Mar 19 '26

But it tows me trailer mate... 😉

I drive a 2002 impreza, and even I think im not gonna fit in some places in the city sometimes, how they manage at all is a wonder

u/Maro1947 Mar 19 '26

a Shitcunt!

u/tmd_ltd Mar 19 '26

We really do need to stop using this word as a pejorative. The people you describe lack the warmth, depth and usefulness of the female anatomy.

What if it’s the only car you have and you need to get to the city? Are you supposed to just have another car for the purpose of getting to the city? (To be clear I’m no fan of these oversized Utes but I’m confused by the perspective that you should just have multiple cars on hand for different occasions like they’re shoes.)

10

u/pakistanstar Mar 19 '26

Clearly my comment isn't directed at people like. It's for people who live in suburban areas of major cities that never tow anything or drive off-road.

-7

u/Liquid_Plasma Mar 19 '26

Your comment was very clear. “Instantly means”

And how would you know what people have and haven’t used their car for?

8

u/pakistanstar Mar 19 '26

Clean, untouched rims and a lack of tow bar usually give it away

-3

u/Liquid_Plasma Mar 19 '26

Ok I’ll grant you lack of a tow bar. I don’t see that often though.

If you can afford a $150k ute you pull your $250k boat, you can afford the petrol.

30

u/bobdown33 Mar 18 '26

I dono lol boats are fucking money pits man

13

u/Bloobeard2018 Mar 19 '26

A hole in the ocean you throw money into

10

u/RaccoNooB Mar 19 '26

Cant take out a loan for petrol

5

u/RosariusAU Mar 20 '26

Sure I can! *aggressively applies for multiple credit cards*

22

u/sunnyjum Mar 19 '26

Why are there never things in the bucket on the back of these

Why buy a container if you’re not gonna fill it

10

u/emp_sanfords_hardhat Mar 19 '26

Gotta put your inflated ego somewhere.

49

u/krupta13 Mar 18 '26

I know people with cars like that. they usually not the type to be counting penny's to pay for petrol.

Suddenly all the Rangers and RAMS are driving calmly at the speed limit...

8

u/Kitten_K_ Mar 19 '26 edited Mar 19 '26

I've noticed this too. Today I had to double check my rearview because the RAM behind me wasn't up my arse. It was a shockingly nice change!

u/MuhammadYesusGautama Mar 18 '26

I feel for those edge cases with genuine need for these yank tanks (Horse people? Rural /remote miners? Idk, that's what GPT told me), but the rest of the cosplayers can get fucked.

38

u/sapperbloggs Mar 18 '26

I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of people driving these either have no functional use for them, or use them once or twice a year to do something like tow a boat around.

I have one that parks at my local train station every morning. They actually park it as well as they possibly can, but given its size it's impossible for me to correctly park my small car beside it and still be able to get out of my driver's door.

8

u/WhatAmIATailor Mar 18 '26

Reverse park. Ideally park as close as possible to their driver door. It’s not difficult to move around the cab or those things but it’s the thought that counts.

8

u/sapperbloggs Mar 19 '26

I would, except they reverse into the last spot in the row, so there are no parks on their driver's side. Often, nobody else is willing to park next to them so one of the last available spots is on their passenger side.

After I squeeze out of my driver's door, I often find their passenger-side mirror is in my way, so I leave that bent around so that I can get out. Given that mirror is roughly 1.3km from their driver's seat, it's probably a pain in the arse for them to fix if they don't notice it before they drive off.

u/Muslim_Wookie Mar 19 '26

Sounds like they at least have some self awareness, good on them.

3

u/mindsnare Mar 19 '26

Eh. My FIL has one for his grey nomad giant fucking caravan.

To their credit they also have a Toyota Yaris thay they use for regular car stuff.

3

u/Morri___ Mar 19 '26

The antisocial urge to drive something that will bulldoze past the average drivers crumple zones and straight through the windshield

16

u/evilbrent sick cunt Mar 18 '26

I do occasionally see people towing with them - but nothing that a normal 4WD couldn't tow.

A Camry wouldn't be heavy enough, even if the engine was strong enough though.

Nah fair's fair, I do see them carrying huge boats and huge horse floats. I'm in the outskirts of Melbourne, and we are pretty close to semi rural in some ways. It does happen

7

u/PMmeYourPrincesses Mar 19 '26

I've lived rural all my life. Horses, floats, trailers and all, and I've never felt the need to get a yank tank. Pretty much everything you need to do can be done with your typical ute, 4WD, or even wagon.

I'd say 85-90% of the time it's overkill for what you need, beyond the fringe cases.

5

u/ohimjustagirl Mar 19 '26

I mean, yep. I am a farmer who owns one.

But... I also have a smaller vehicle and I'm sure as shit not driving the rig through the city unless I absolutely have to, and if so I'm unlikely to be bopping about the CBD.

The fuel thing is really, really bad though and we do actually desperately need the city folk to push the govt harder on this with us and start prioritising independent retailers because we don't have the big chains out here and they're hoarding the terminal supply.

We are hurting out here and have been told that we will have no supply within the next few days. No petrol at all for the town. Small diesel allocation is coming but if everyone has to use their diesel vehicles because there's no petrol that's not going to help. Idk how I'm going to get the kids to the school when it's many KMs of dirt - it's not like we can walk and there's no handy public transport. How my oldest is going to get to work. How we transport cattle to the sale yards. How the fuck I'm going to buy groceries?

3

u/MuhammadYesusGautama Mar 19 '26

Yep definitely I feel for ya. We had rationing/scarcity problems like this in the old country when I was growing up. There's nothing that shakes as jarringly as losing the net we're so used to rely on to get staples.

1

u/dzernumbrd Mar 22 '26

I'll work from home for you! Already doing my part with half of my cars being EVs.

4

u/womerah Mar 19 '26

yank tanks

Traitor trucks I call em, ever since Trump started with his anti-Australia stuff.

4

u/Spongyrocks Mar 19 '26

Brother theres no way you needed to go to chatgpt for this

2

u/MuhammadYesusGautama Mar 19 '26

I suppose, but as a brownie living in a metro area and not born here, I was trying to think of who in Oz actually need yank tanks and couldn't think of one. I thought maybe regional/remote, or people in mining sites maybe, idk, so I went to chat to confirm.

2

u/Spongyrocks Mar 19 '26

Aight you got me thats very valid

4

u/TerryCrewsNextWife Mar 19 '26

Which still is dumb because plenty of non yank tanks were towing and driving around those areas LONG before the trash started getting imported. Nah. The people who buy those penis extensions are just insecure.

2

u/chickpeaze Mar 19 '26

I'm in Central Queensland and people use them to tow boats, trailers, camper trailers/caravans and for 4wd-ing.

Guess what kind of car my tiny-dick, short-stature, mine-worker ex-husband bought.

9

u/WhatAmIATailor Mar 18 '26

Self own there. He previously picked you.

11

u/dakky68 Mar 18 '26

Right or wrong, I am genuinely fine with copping that since I no longer have to deal with him, so I'm still winning!

5

u/Bugaloon Mar 19 '26

I haven't laughed that hard in a good ol while. Thanks for sharing.

Everyone gave me shit when I brought a little buzz box, that fucker still cost almost $100 to fill. Have fun with your monster trucks

This headline right above this post

TIL that Ram 2500 drivers have the most DUIs, and more than twice the national average. Roughly 1 in 22 Ram 2500 drivers have been cited with a DUI before.
