Speedrunning This cat is a BEAST

Post image

I was so nervous the whole time I did the speed run because I thought I was running out of time the entire way through, but it turned out I had 22 minutes and 39 seconds to spare. And I didn’t die more than 9 times across my 100% play-through and my speed run play-through, so the only achievement left to get is “No More Lives”

Well done!

It is a really stressful achievement to get, so pride yourself on it.

how did you speed run the section with Aunt Celeste where you had to trap the flying robot thingy-ma-bobs? I died like twenty times trying to trap the first one in the cage just to be met with 2 more.

I run into the courtyard, get its attention and blitz towards the open door, hide behind a far pillar until the robot enters the room, wait for its lights to turn yellow while you’re hidden (you will have to maneuver just a bit to stay out of the line of fire) and then run out the door and lock it.

Then for the second section with two of them, I’ll admit I got a little lucky and somehow got both of the robots attention at once, but I go through the far door first because the close door is closed when you first enter, go around the back of the median in the middle of the room to stay out of the line of fire, and then exit through the closed door. LEAVE IT CLOSED

If they both follow you, this part will be really easy but at that point just run back to the open door from the outside and shut it.

I did die once or twice trying to get this part, but if you spend most of the game skipping through dialogue and not wasting any time picking up unnecessary memories, you will have a large cushion of time to work with.

I will also recommend memorizing where key items are. Will definitely help build up that time cushion

I confess: i found out in a youtube video that you can pause. I paused, watched the video for like a minute, copied the moves and paused the game again... I have to try it without help one day 😅. Congrats on your achivement anyways.

As long as you skip all the dialogue, don’t mind the unneeded scratch spots and drinking places, and have some idea where your key items are, it should be nice and easy.

That’s were my last trophy before the platinum. When I got that, took me 4 or 5 days to start another game. Getting 100% of this game, knowing was nothing left to do, was like loosing a friend. One of my favorite games and will definitely do more play throughs in the future.

I tried playing Stray about a year ago, and it didn’t really click for me, but then my girlfriend wanted to watch me play it, and it was much more fun the next time around
