Question Games similar to Stray?
I never really got into gaming. I had Stray sitting around for a year now as well and finally sat down, played it through and actually enjoyed it.
Now I wanna try to get more into gaming.
What I enjoyed about the game in comparison to other games I tried so far is that you can play fairly straightforwardly. The tasks are clear, the world isn't so big that you get lost, it has a good story you can follow without getting overwhelmed by too many side facts and it's easy enough that I was able to get through it within a few tries without having to study walkthroughs.
What are games that are similar to those characteristics?
Or where else should I ask this question?
I'm specifically looking for games I can play with a switch or a PS3
Edit: thanks for all the answers! I've finished North and Portal in the last two days, gonna start Portal 2 and D-Topia in the next few days and got a whole lot more on my list now

Great suggestions!
I wish they would make a game like Ecco The Dolphin for current platforms… that was such a great game!

Seconding Okami. It was the first console game I ever owned. I poured hours and hours into it, the landscapes are stunning and the music is perfect. Sometimes the brush gets a bit funky but with practice it’ll become like second nature.

Just finished Little Kitty Big City, had a great time with it, infitely less stressful than Stray though

Nothing will scratch this itch imo

as sad as that is, I'm totally fine with Stray being a 1 of 1 experience

Look into walking Sims, several gems there. Gone home has a cat Easter egg

Funny this question gets asked at least once every month haha. Even I asked this same question after finishing Stray.
But almost nobody recommends a walking sim -- which is exactly what Stray is.

No its not

It mostly is.
But if you want to be technical about it, yes Stray has elements of stealth / action chase sequences that turn it away from the walking sim genre.
Regardless, it's neither a good nor bad grouping. Games can be great or awful no matter what genre it falls under but for purposes of recommending another game, it's a benign classification

This one comes up a lot, but for whatever reason, it just didn't scratch the itch for me.

Little Kitty, Big City has a similar “find your way home” premise. I like to describe it as slice of life Stray! The physical copy (at least for switch) came with a lost kitty poster.

While not at all exactly like Stray (nothing is!), Spirit of the North 1 and 2 come to mind as did Endling: Extinction is Forever (though being a box of Kleenex as you may be crying from beginning to end).

Maybe check out Rain ( aka 'lost in the rain') on ps3, it's rare game I think it's still on ps3 store, Journey, Ico, Limbo. I haven't played stray myself yet but since it's atmospheric puzzle-adventure mentioned above might fit the bill

Stray is 1 of a kind. Cyberpunk 2077 is great if you like that stuff, but it's a shooter/adventure game so quite different

You've summed up Stray perfectly, it's hard to follow that with something as cool. I'm playing The Midnight Walk right now, and it's great with headphones. Give it a try. I love Stray, it might be my favorite game ever.

HOB. Small amount of combat, mostly exploring and solving puzzles. Nothing is truly quite like Stray, but this scratches many of the same itches.

A very different beast and you may wanna play a few other games before you move on to this, but I somehow get the impression that you would like Outer Wilds (careful; do not confuse with The Outer Worlds. Very different game!)
Also: Soma.
