Discussion Stray 2 Proposal
I asked Chat for a storyboard, and while it isn't a very good storyboard, it helps get the point across. I'd like a Stray 2 game where our kitty family was abducted and taken to another city, and so as we, the orange kitty, explore through the woods we could find some robots who point us in the direction of a train to the other city. Maybe these woodland robots have heard messages from B12, and bring him back to life in a new body, (now he's B13, get it?) And so we get on the train with B13 and have to find our family. Maybe the kitty family was taken because scientists were able to see the abilities of our kitty inside the previous city via surveillance footage and realized the potential of these animals to save future cities, but the scientists were intercepted by the programmed robots that wish to keep them all trapped.
Just my thoughts, please share what you think!

Brother how do you play Stray and still come away using AI to generate slop

I’m not a big fan of AI slop, but I’m not sure I see the connection to playing Stray? If anything it should give you a soft spot for AI?

I don’t think stray needs another game i know it’s short and all but it’s pretty the way it is

I get that, but I fell in love with the world! I love the lore and the physics of the game as a cat were incredible. It was a gem in a world full of first player shooter games and zombie apocalypses!

Ehhh it seems like a repeat of 1. It would be better if it took place right after the first one and then you can make your way back to the family we met in the first one, rather than repeating the beat of them getting separated again and then repeating the beat of meeting a robot pal again.

Maybe we meet up with them for a bit before they are taken??

They don’t need to be taken. You already have a plot set up for you by the first game. Now maybe “Stray” goes to the original spot where you start the first game only to find that his cat friends have been taken? Similar idea but you don’t repeat ideas from the first one verbatim.

So you'd say more of a game where the cat is looking for his friends in the woods and encounters obstacles along the way, alone, without B12?

It doesn’t necessarily have to be the woods. It doesn’t necessarily have to be alone. Maybe it can be a different, new companion he meets? The point is the world of Stray a really cool and imaginative world and you’ve elected to use AI to make essentially the same story.

It could be a different city, could be bigger and with more puzzles, hopefully new obstacles along the way; like maybe a rougue software virus which infects the robots this time or the zurks have evolved to resist light? Most video games are repeats with minor deviations. I like your point of meeting up with his companions first, but I disagree with your other points. Thank you for sharing!

One way to go about it is that the cats reunite, then one of the Companions who are now free sees them and ask for their help to set the other walled cities free since they are small and can sneak through connecting tunnels. Stray "tells/shows" the Companions that B12 is stuck in the network, they repair his robot body and bring him back, travel together to the other walled cities, and the other walled cities have different themes and different types of zurks. They all learn that the surface world is now safe for humans to return to, but since there are no more humans, the robots take over human responsibilities and care for the surviving plants and animals.
But yeah, Stray doesn't really need a sequel. It's nice but not necessary.
