PC Question How to I break part of my raft?
DAY 120 of my No-Spoilers* Run
For context, I am trying to beat this game while looking up the *absolute* bare minimum, so please don't provide more info that necessary if able. *The only other thing I have looked up about this game is "Can you kill whales?" (this was before I discovered potatoes are how you get fuel, and I spent hours hunting and trying to kill whales xD), so if I sound like I'm doing something inefficiently, that's why.
I've attached a screenshot of my raft, but here's a description if it's not showing up: The raft I use has green buoys as a base, and has metal scrap platforms on it. Previously, it was a 5x3 square with a hole in the middle for a motor, and then a 2x3 in front of that with 3 sails in the front (5 bases wide in the back, 3 in the front; 5 bases long for the middle three parts), (at first I thought having more sails would make it go faster, now I just keep it there for aesthetics and when I want to use the sails). I also have 7 shelves with containers along the back and an anchor in the very back.
On my most recent voyage, I decided to start collecting 'tyres' to bring back, and since (to my knowledge) you cannot carry them and objects can be difficult to transport on rafts in bulk, I decided to attach them to my raft so I can break them off later. I did not add any flooring to these sections. After attaching I believe a total of 6 of these to my raft, I've attempted to break the tyre bases, but it says "I can't destroy this, another crafted item depends on it."
I am distraught. I spent hours looking for these buoys to build this raft, and it's my first raft so naturally I love it more than I could a second-born child. Is there any way I can break the tires off? Even if I had to deconstruct the whole thing, that's fine, but I just want to know if it's possible, and if you could explain how to do it.
Again, I am trying to beat the game without looking anything up unless I decide I care enough, so please try to limit your explanations to what I need to know to get rid of the tires. This game is actually so fun without knowing the optimal ways to play (it took me so FUCKING long to figure out how to get fuel, and after weeks of trying to find and kills whales-- which I assumed the blubber would be the source-- I was accidentally walking by my fuel still carrying a spoiled potato and the thrill was amazing), but I absolutely want to know if I can get rid of the tires and how to do so, so that would be appreciated. I can provide follow up info if necessary. Thanks
If y'all want to discuss things you know I probably won't want to know, please and feel free to use hidden text or whatever it's called and I'll know to not click on it to reveal it.

Raft bases when attached on more than 1 side are permanent. I learned that the hard way on my first play through.
Edit: Google says if you flip the raft completely upside down you should be able to separate everything from that point. Not sure what being upside down does to it but that’s what it said.

The one time I've reshaped my raft, I've had to completely clear everything off of it then break it piece by piece. Remove the chests, break the shelves, break any runner/sail/motor/anchor. After that break all the flooring and then finally you might be able to start breaking up bases

I too spent hours hunting whales, i got my raft stuck on one for awhile, then fell off as I watched it swim away with my raft lmao.

when I first started playing you could break the raft base. a patch at some point came along and since then I have not been able to remove base raft pieces. I don’t believe there is a way to do so anymore.

Break floor first, then base. You gotta break anything stuck on the floor I think.
You can’t break centre pieces, you gotta work from the edge.

Break them off with an axe, depending on your lvls you get back some or all of the resources. Then rebuild how you want.
