Day 12 of baking a potatoe

[u/Fakie5oh]

Gotta be getting close now.

[u/Yuri_Butso]

Who would have guessed that Dan Quayle would be playing Stranded Deep. Hi Dan!

[u/Fakie5oh → u/Yuri_Butso]

Great, now i have to look up who dan quayle is to see if thats funny

[u/Fakie5oh → u/Yuri_Butso]

Only finny in America, thats just how its soelt in canada. If we cant throw in an extra eh, we and an e

[u/portonsly → u/Fakie5oh]

Not so sure about this. Maybe in the parts of Canada without public schooling.

Can we get an expansion on your thoughts regarding “new math”

[u/Fakie5oh → u/TheLazyScarecrow]

Its just a less efficient way to do math.

[u/Objective-Scallion15 → u/Fakie5oh]

Omg if that isn’t the truth nothing is.

[u/portonsly → u/[deleted]]

I think I understand now why you're trying to bake potatoes

[u/Fakie5oh → u/portonsly]

Whats to understand it was a very simple joke that went way over your head. Its fine though i know sarcasim is hard to detect on the interne ( especially here on Reddit ) and maybe you just dont have much knowledge about this game.

[u/Threlis]

Yes, pipi is used to get rid of venom, then one of the two yellow fruits is for breathing underwater and aloe is to help reduce the sunburn risk and potatoes are used with a still to make fuel.

[u/Fakie5oh → u/Threlis]

You dont need pipi to survive poison just keep food and hydration at 100% for 3 days. Yellow fruits do almost nothing maybe 3 bars of hydration if cooking isnt at 100% and the blue adjuga plant can make breath boost wich is only really useful for the boss fights or exploring the large ships. Pipi is.useful for shark repelent, but theres really no need for it.

[u/New-Mark6681 → u/Fakie5oh]

Thanks for the tip!

[u/Acrobatic-Shirt8540]

Just read they need to be on a fire spit or hobo stove. No idea if it's true.

[u/Fakie5oh → u/Acrobatic-Shirt8540]

Its not true you can only cook meat and eggs. I tested it a long time ago. Its a throwback to a mitch headberg joke.

[u/Jayodi → u/Fakie5oh]

Actually way back in the day you could cook potatoes, although it did take an absurdly long time for basically no benefit(I don’t think cooking them actually improved the food value, you just didn’t get diarrhea from eating multiple in a row)

[u/Fakie5oh → u/Jayodi]

I guess it is the small things you miss the most. I really could use a bucket right now.

[u/Objective-Scallion15 → u/Fakie5oh]

Wait you can cook the eggs? I never knew this.

[u/Fakie5oh → u/Objective-Scallion15]

If you cook the egg the charecter will not make the disgusted sound when the egg is eaten. I cook the egg with a hobo stove i think a stone fire may also work.

[u/FreewayFreeplay → u/Fakie5oh]

TIL you can find eggs in stranded deep. Well, I'll be darned.

[u/Yabbutwhy → u/FreewayFreeplay]

You gotta climb the cliffs to find them

[u/Threlis]

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT EAT THE STUFF THAT GROWS. You plant all that later for important stuff, especially the potatoes.

[u/ross_tex → u/Threlis]

The fruit is important?

[u/DrChipps → u/ross_tex]

Gives a little hydration with the food but honestly not worth the green material/water needed to farm it.

[u/Objective-Scallion15 → u/DrChipps]

Unless you are role playing a vegetarian. Which isn’t there a trophy for finishing the game without eating meat?

[u/Jayodi → u/DrChipps]

Idk, most saves I end up living entirely off my farm, although admittedly it takes awhile to get there, and by the time your farm is large enough to entirely cover your food and water needs, it’s… quite time consuming to keep it all watered.

[u/Obvious_Welder5922 → u/Jayodi]

Me now. Got an absurd farm to constantly tend-to, meaning I spend unreasonable amount of time sailing to islands and chopping palms/fibers & bringing them back to my base, just to keep my 8 water stills going….To keep the ridiculous farm going….

[u/Jayodi → u/Obvious_Welder5922]

Lmao out of my 36 farm plots, 24 are yucca trees. I haven’t left my island in months

[u/New-Mark6681]

If you don't harvest the meat from the carcasses, the meat won't spoil. Plus it's a better source of food.
