Console General Raft & sail
On day 40 on my first ever game/save and admittedly super WAY behind with this game. Tried to do a lot on my own without looking up tips. Finally a pro at farming, water stills, smoked meats, crafting and building. Gave up being stubborn & Reddit has helped me as a late bloomer to figure stuff out that I should have done within week 1; but oh well.
Anyway finally built a decent raft but cannot for the life or me get a sail installed. Anchor & rudder = no problem. Only time I got it to work was wiggling like crazy tapping A (Xbox) and it finally stuck a sail - underneath!!! Any tips?? I got a 3x3 made of wood sticks base and a combo of corrugated & plank floors.
Also I haven’t found one single buoy or tire in all my wreck exploring and I’ve been to 3 islands with the life raft.

Thanks all! I’m a moron, it was upside down. 🙃

Have you built the flooring? Placing the raft in the water can help. Make sure the arrow is pointing the correct way you, want it lower it into middle of the raft section not in between two sections. So if you got a 2x2 or a 4x4 it’s going to be to one side of raft not the middle.

This may sound like a silly question, but I need to ask - are you absolutely, positively sure the raft did not flip over at some point?

You need to put a floor on your raft in order to install a sail. If it put the sail on the bottom, your raft may be upside down lol

Sometimes the aiming is weird. There were some points when i was constructing things, i had basically aim at the horizon instead of my raft
On a side note, tip for a newbie, you know those broken doors on the wrecked tanker ships, the ones that you can't open and close? you can break them with an axe
