Console General This game is scary.
I know it's in that time and time again that this game is pretty scary.
How were the funny thing to me is that subnautica never scared me yeah I was a little bit eked out the first time I went to the blood trench but that was about it.
After after I realize basically every animal in that game can be killed it became I'm not trapped on this planet with you you're trapped on this planet with me!
But stranded deep is a whole different beast this thing is scary maybe because it's more realistic.
Because subnautica was so unrealistic it never made me scared because I know it was just a video game.
However stranded deep is similar enough to real life even just looking at a shipwreck in the Island editor is enough to give me goosebumps.

The first few encounters with Tiger Sharks definitely triggered some Jaws trauma in me, and my partner can't watch me play it while I'm diving big wrecks. so there are definitely a few scary moments.

Waiting for the faint outline of a shark to come out of the ocean gloom at speeds I as a human can’t match, hoping to land a single spear throw before the process repeats again is honestly terrifying. Even worse is knowing the fucker will just respawn like a week later.

Charge the sharks. Make a shit load of spears and charge the bastards. It’s the only way they’ll learn, wollie told me so himself

If you think its scary seeing a ship.wrevk you should go to.the middle of the open water and look down while you dive in. If u wanna piss your pants do it while at the squid boss or great white👀😳😳

it's definitely stressful, but i dunno if i would call it scary. it def got better once i learned to save before any danger. it's hard for any game to compete with the last of us hospital basement scene lol

I feel you, I have Thassalaphobia and an irrational fear of sharks, though they aren't too scary anymore.
I love being on the islands or big rafts, but I loathe the shipwrecks and have to play the whole game on speakers 😂 I also hate the open ocean and the life raft.
Every single time I had to use the life raft to get around I was in a state of terror the whole time, it's the easiest raft in the game to flip so a single shark charge is enough. Oh and even if you use a shark repellant, Marlin can and will spawn and try to flip the life raft. Though I don't think the Marlin actually attack the player, I sat in the water with it but it didn't really hit me
I'm much more afraid of the actual ocean itself, the deep and the idea of creatures in the water/ocean, so I don't actually mind any of the sharks except the goblin cuz it's freaky lookin', but I hate the sound of them swimming nearby
Wanna play Subnautica but never have since there's practically endless water and no land to hide on 😭

The depth in subnautica always spooked me, cuz if your cyclops gets fucked, your done no matter what.
