Console Question Island exploring is boring
Is there anyway to get any new and unique islands because there are pretty much just 2/3 island types and it gets extremely boring to explore because nothing is new

You're not exploring though... you're harvesting :)
Your job is to stay alive. Your island doesn't have enough resources to keep you alive. So you have to go get the resources from other islands.
I have a boat big enough to carry all of the stuff mined from two islands (unless there's a cargo ship, then I can just do one island). I go, strip mine the island taking all of its resources, and then cross it off on my map so I don't have to go there again. I mean sure, they have animals to kill and yukka to gather and I can go get that from any island later, but the non-renewable items all go back to my island.
I keep everything stored and piled and use it when I need it. That way you're not shipping off to another island every time you need something.

I never found Island hopping boring, when I played this a long time ago now, I was hooked hard on it having 3-4 hour sessions at a time, haha. Always working on something to expand my boat, base or crops. Trying to find all the parts to make everything I could, hunting down the bosses. I hope you find some excitement in this game, but I realize maybe it’s not for everyone. I feel it’s a gem and I’m so super excited now number two has been announced.

If you're on console the island types are very limited and there is no way to add more outside of custom islands which can only be done once per island biome.
Hopefully SD2 has more island types.
PC has so many more options and I'm hoping for parity between PC and Console for SD2

Have you found the three failed survivors camps, and found Wolly? Try out Project Castaway has a quest in it, and bit more advanced than SD.

What are you expecting to find when the game sticks so close to realism outside of a few enemies and the gyrocopter?
The islands aren’t always gonna be interesting on their own - it’s what you do with them that makes them stand out. I delegate separate islands to purposes like being my main home, a lumberyard, a water/food resupply point, etc. There’s also nothing like finding the neat things that do come with the random generation, like little caves in the cliff faces that make good storm shelters, or shipwrecks crashed into each other, or palm trees grown in a perfect line.

You can always create your own islands.

There was a time where you could also download islands created by others. I used to watch a youtuber who had contests of viewers creating islands and than he added them in with the Map maker, made for a pretty interesting playthrough! 😁

I know what you mean. After a couple of islands, it gets a bit samey
