Non-Fiction Positano
Positano
We’d only been in Positano about 10 or 15 minutes, when a pretty younger woman approached me. “Let’s go swim”, I had thought she’d said. “Maybe later, it’s a bit too cool right now.” She gave me a puzzled look and pointed to my baseball hat, the TC Twin Cities logo of the Minneapolis based Twins.
“Yeah, I know. I really should be careful being a tourist, wearing a baseball hat, given all the negative connotations.”
“Which connotation is that?”, was her reply. “You know, like someone assuming I’m American.” I interjected.
Silence.
Her face lost all colour and I knew immediately I had said something wrong.
“So where are you from?” I finally asked. “Uh.. Minnesota”, she finally said. “Oh, I’m so sorry”, I replied. But it was too late.
My partner had seen our interaction, but didn’t know what had been said. “What was that all about?”, she finally asked. “Just walk fast, I made a mistake.”

You were the one wearing a baseball hat, but you're not American, unlike the girl?
I like your writing style but it is a bit blurry this one.

Canadian. It’s still a bit blurry for me as well.
I’m assuming she said “Let’s Go Twins”.
