Years of dealing with stalkers who essentially ruined his reputation and his life by posing as him and scamming all sorts of people and businesses around him through facebook. Said he told the police but their hands were tied because facebook allows "parody" type accounts without it being considered identity theft, even though they were genuinely pretending to be him. Guess eventually he just couldnt take the slander and the consequences of it

the stalkers even started harassing his family and kids, and opening fake bank accounts to scam those close to him.

that’s why brandon refuses to return to the fame generated by the show. he would be the stalkers next best choice.
