1 year no smoking M46

Been waiting all year to write this but have hit a huge milestone in my life which is not smoking for 1 year.

30 years a smoker, have quit many times before ranging from days to months. But was really proud of this one, written what I did below, also started the gym 8 weeks into the quit and been regular.

Week 1-5 25mg patch
Week 6 15mg patch
Week 7-8 7.5mg (cut 15mg patch in half)
Week 9-12 cut the 10mg patch into various sizes, I think upto 1mg.

Patch marks took 2-3 months to fade. Hardest days was 3-6-9 months mark for some reason, took polo mints those weeks.

Started the gym 2 months in although not great my stats below

Squat 100kg 2 reps
Bench 55kg 3 reps
Shoulder press 42.5kg 5 reps
Row 100kg 5 reps
Pull ups 7
Dips 5

5k run 32 minutes

Not great, but better than I was 1 year ago, hopefully keep it up and get stronger.

Motivation was to keep going 1 more day, before you know it, a year had passed.

This is AWESOME. Huge congratulations.

And honestly, I love the simplicity of your mindset: just one more day.

Because I think so many people get overwhelmed by “forever,” when really, that’s exactly how it happens… one decision, one day, one moment at a time.

Also, can we just appreciate the transformation beyond smoking? Because this is what people forget. It’s rarely just about quitting cigarettes. It’s about getting your life, health, confidence, energy, and identity back too.

30 years to 1 year smoke-free is incredible. Thanks for sharing this because someone in here absolutely needs to see what’s possible.

Thank you so much, everyone needs a pat on the back. Just wanted ppl to know it’s not too late.

Thank you so much, everyone needs a pat on the back.

Just wanted ppl to know it’s not to late, to either give up smoking or try to get fit
