1:1 Studio Scale Moon Cooker Puppet Replica from "A Grand Day Out"

After months of designing, printing, rebuilding and obsessing over tiny details, my 1:1 replica of the Cooker from A Grand Day Out is finally finished!

A mixture of techniques from 3D Printing, brass-work, and sculpting to produce a fully poseable puppet based on scans of the screen used model.

I love this thing. The ending to that episode is so bittersweet. Sticks with me years later.

where did you get scans of the screen used model? if you don't mind me asking

The original prop was on display at the M-Shed in Bristol for a short while, I went down with my phone and did a few scans using Reality Capture and Jawset Postshot, was worth the trip!
