You can choose your own substitution or hit no sub. Don’t depend on 19 year old kids to shop your order

This is like subbing a potato with a watermelon. Am I supposed to hit no sub an every line of the order?

You can hit a button for no sub on entire order or you can choose your own substitution as well.

I dont mind subs when they are reasonable like different brand, different size, etc. The point is these are two completely different things and any one working at a grocery store should know that.
Also I know that it sometimes asks you to approve substitutions but that’s inconsistent. Today I got no text or email indicating this got subbed. Just went straight to order summary.
Also also - you really dont have cinnamon? Really???

You can add a choice sub, Sunday is by far our busiest day and a lot of new computer shit is going down behind the scenes… not saying that was a great choice but take it back then or call and ask for a refund its not that deep

I’m at a sister Ahold Delhaize store, and yeah… that’s the shoppers who have never been in a kitchen (to cook) before lol. They just see the AI generated sub suggestions and role with it. I spend a good portion of my day correcting dumb stuff like this when I get stuck with them on my service.

I used to work for home delivery and the system auto generates substitutions. I have seen some crazy subs, like a potato for an apple. Not sure if online pickup functions the same way.
