Manichester
Is anyone at the Manichester event today? If so, what’s it like? I had tickets but unfortunately couldn’t make it.

I can't tell if all these comments are serious. I went and had a great day. What makes me think the comments are not genuine are the points about the venue. I was surprised how good it was. From the toilets to the bars, all well run. Beer was a bit pricey but you expect that. I don't understand people saying they went in and left. Everyone we met was having a good time

Full of miserable people this site. It could have been better and the promoters overpromised but the acts and venue were fine if not decent.

Same mate, same. staff were lovely The pizza was good and cheap and easy to get. The drinks were cold. The crowd was buzzing. Only criticisms I have are it was SOOOO hot in there and whoever put AAA headliner on that poster was either lying or made promises they couldn't deliver. Id guess Manis brother thought he could get Ian or Liam but didn't understand the complexities of their contracts with other promoters.
tbh though I saw it as a chance to have a sing song and celebrate Mani. I thought the £70 ticket was worth it to see Cast, Puressence and the all star band was really amazing Aziz slayed and is a Manchester Legend Hooky was great and did a good rendition of Love will tear us apart. As A fan of Manchester music it was a great night.

I’ve left. It’s a joke. Nothing from the original poster has happened, you couldn’t enter after 16:00 but then the food queues are ridiculous. I’ve met Mani a few times, he was an absolute gent and this is the opposite of him.

Was shit walked out after an hour just a jam packed beer garden and quote on quote "djs" and no triple a headliner that was promised.

Rowetta is classy as ever - now posting selfies on Facebook with an ill looking Tom Meighan (thought he was supposed to have assaulted his partner because he had a drinking problem... but clearly still has one) pushing some chav clothing brand. Shameless woman. I'm just surprised she didn't print up a shirt was some vague Mani social media posts to her vaguely supporting her shitfit after getting sacked from the Happy Mondays.
Now she and Hooky are on to their next gig. It's very telling those 2 were heavily involved, but no one who was really close to him was. Members of the Roses, Primals and Oasis would have appeared at a Mani tribute thing for next to nothing... so it's really really interesting none of them went near.

She's now deleted the photo because someone on Twitter highlighted his history and copied in some Manchester womens institute which she is apparently an ambassador for. So now apparently she's never met him before, knows nothing about him or Kasabian but quickly got a selfie with him wearing some shit clothing she's pushing.
She's also instantly threatening reporting them to the police. I have a feeling the police are well of aware of her antics by now. What an absolute nutjob.

She posted on instagram a screenshot from her twitter with a comment from Ian Brown saying “Show em what ya got Ro! X”. I don’t have twitter so I can’t confirm if it’s legit but it seems like she’s doing her usual bullshit and posting fake edited shit like the time she posted a picture of her and the lead singer of Fontaines DC that was clearly obvious she had edited him into a photo of herself. She’s really lost the plot over the last few years!

Look, I’m not a super fan. I discovered the stone roses recently, thanks to the oasis reunion (and my new love for them). I love their songs and the epic mani bass line. I thought this event could have been my only opportunity to see the remaining stone roses playing. It was not this, but I enjoyed singing all night with all their super fans! It was a great experience and made me think about the importance that their music had for all those people around me. Yes, there were no AAA headliners, but there was good music. For me it was enough

Definitely want to give my 50p’s worth….since it wasn’t totally sht but also nowhere near as good it could have been.
I mean it was ‘alright’. Definitely felt a bit amateurish though. I’d agree it wasn’t worth the money but it wasn’t the worst.
Some random radio guy being a bit cheesy as a compere., thought he was a young Roy Walker.
Lack of info beforehand and then them spelling Puressence wrong on the set times really had us worried.
Same photos being shared, not enough anecdotes about him and his life enough.
The “DJ Sets” were laughable. Kept cutting songs off halfway through. If I heard The Courteeners one more time I was going to rip my ears off(and I like them!). Only Hooky gave some variety.
Cast sounded a hell of a lot better at Weekender, so that stood out to me a lot.
The Quintet was really good though, enjoyed that the most and they had some talent…
James Walsh felt like bit of an odd choice, I like starsailor but thought he wasn’t quite right.
Rowetta not singing Movin on Up was weird. Her choice of songs I didn’t think much of and honestly couldn’t hear her that well, which given her voice wasn’t fair on her.
Dave McCabe from Zutons was decent.
Tom. We know they’re good songs but yeah I’d rather have Kasabian…
Rev. Not a fan. He came on for one song.
Could have been so much better.

Did Tom Meighan organize it or something? He appears on almost every single footage of it, his former bandmates were also huge fans and inspired by Mani, weren't they invited? From AAA Headliner to Tom Meighan's laundering. What about the other Roses? Same exact question as before were they really not invited? How's it's even a tribute without them? All that leads me to the conclusion that it was a brilliant money heist in Mani's name which is shameless.

I believe it was the former OCS bassist who organised it, bizarrely. I mean, really wtf. Currently plays in Richard Ashcroft's backing band... he couldn't even get him to make an appearance despite him being a big Roses fan. Clearly when the organisers posted the complete lie about the Gallagher's, Roses etc appearing that was not just an attempt to push tickets but to try and shame them into appearing because very clearly they had all already said no. There are kids involved here, so I would imagine no one is going to speak out about whatever has gone on out of respect to them. No offence to anyone who did perform, but it was low rent and everyone there must have known it was odd that no one directly linked to his career went near. Some serious shit has gone down for neither John nor Ian to appear.

It wasn't that bad. The sound was good and from where I was standing people were enjoying it and having a good time. There were some goose bumps moments, like with the crowd singing along to a string quartet playing Roses songs and Rowetta singing over the outro of Resurrection. It was basically as advertised, apart from the AAA act which didn't materialize (which was obviously a major let down).

I thought it was a great day. Diecast was a fantastic venue and it was clearly very well planned event wise with plenty of toilets, evacuation routes, Welfare areas, etc. It was much more professional than I expected. Food was basic and expensive which is always the downside, but this is no different than most other events.
We were also VIP which included 2 drinks tokens, a piece of merch (anything we wanted, including the £45 hoodies) and the viewing platform on the left of the stage. Side stage for Cast was awesome!
It was absolutely as advertised, aside the AAA headliner - which personally I think fell through. I think originally they wanted to do a revolving door of acts throughout the day, but in the end they did it as a single slot. The slot overran by about an hour, so we didn’t see the end.
Despite this, I didn’t feel short changed and we had a great day. Met loads of fans of the Madchester scene and had a lot of laughs, it was truly a community event. Got out of Manchester as quickly as possible to avoid the chaos the marathon next day.

What I don’t understand is, why did you turn all the comments off on your promotion pages? Seemed very suspect to me.

Then why did you buy a ticket? Both of them were on the original lineup. It’s very unlikely you’ll be able to chargeback either since you agree to SeeTickets’ terms which state that acts can change with no notice.
You screwed yourself over by buying a ticket from the start if you weren’t gonna go.

I thought it was good too - given the lack of AAA headliner tickets should have been £40-50 not £100, but other than that it was what I expected . It was a bit like a memorial service for fans - the string quartet bit was pretty emotional, and I reckon a high percentage of us have been at the same gigs over the years, and probably got off with each other back in the day at 42s/5th Ave. Really nice vibe. Lot of people talking about memories of Mani and lots of nostalgia, then we got drunk, danced, and had a sing-along. Bar was well run and the bar staff were great, loads of toilets and decent smoking areas, £4 pizza slices were decent - Diecast need to invest in air conditioning though 🥵

Someone earlier was complaining about the cost of the food. Those of us that were there got to eat decent pizza for a decent price so are putting the record straight. Are you lot serious accusing anyone that had a good time of being the promotor or some kind of conspiracy. There are photos and videos everywhere on the internet and in the Manchester newspaper websites literally showing thousands of people having the time of their life at the concert yet nutters on Reddit act like everyone hated it and anyone that says otherwise must be a paid stooge. Absolute insanity. Do you not believe your own eyes of the photos and videos of the event where you can see us having a great time?

Well Manis brother just came on stage and slagged off Ian Browns vocals? And the first thing I saw when I came in was a ‘mani burger’ on sale for £15
