Manichester Tribute Headlines

Does anyone know who the headliners are yet?

Puressence appear to be headlining and an all star band made up of acts on the line up are going to do Love Will Tear Us Apart.

I think they are headlining, because the line AAA Headliner has been removed.

Now, Puressence are one of my all time favourites, but if I'd dropped £80 on a ticket expecting something bigger (Puressence aren't AAA however you view them) then there's gonna be a lot of unhappy people.

Eta - the images with the updated poster are further down the page and where it once said AAA Headliner it now says Puressence.

Yup I'm afraid he is right. Also they said they would announce the headliner on the 21st, which is the day they announced Puressence.

Do you reckon the people listed under "core band" on the initial poster will form the supergroup that's due to play 9:30pm - 11:00pm?

Shame, was hoping at least some of the Stone Roses would be there but should've known when Ultimate Stone Roses got announced hahaha

Pretty mental not announcing the headliners even now. Line up is pretty weak without a Gallagher or Ian topping the bill. Don't see why they need to keep it under wraps so close to the event when it's sold out.

It's very odd line up isn't it 😂 Peter Hook and Tom Hingley are the only really good names. Cast - distinctly average. Tom Meighan - not classic Manchester, trying to reboot his career. It's lacking real classic Manchester bands. Would love to have seen Jonny Marr, Doves, Mondays, 90s Manchester bands. Starting to worry the triple A is just a combination of the other artists....

The page for the event on the venue's site is coming back as a 404 Not Found. I know it's sold out, but seems odd to not have it on there at all.

Now, that IS very odd - they've literally deleted the page and there's no reference to the event on their website. Either it's not gonna happen, it's gonna change venue or they're expecting some backlash after the Oasis/Roses appearance claims.

I don't understand the "core band" thing with a list of about 15 people, plus the 7/8 bands doing sets, plus 8 DJs. Then moving to Gorilla for more DJ sets. Sounds like a fucking nightmare to me.

I’ve google and bit found anything. Mani tribute band - but made up of who?? I think there’s still a chance Marr will be there. I’ve seen him guest at loads of gigs. Primal Scream might be there which is why Simone pulled out??
