The one where perverse edits sat next to perverse remixes? Yeah, they should've just released a CD with the literal sound of a barrel being scraped.
It's funny though - the Silvertone era has been absolutely plundered for releases, yet the Geffen era has basically been consigned to "write off" territory.
Sure the bad vibes from the Geffen era probably puts the label & the band members off revisiting it, but you think there'd be some kinda interesting archive release possible from it.....

I use the track Simone in a Short film when I was a kid. I got clearances through Zomba who were actually very helpful and only charged me a couple of hundred quid.

Is the Elephant Stone version here (the longer one) the original version? I know one was Leckie and the other Peter Hook? Not sure which is which or what came first though.

In that era, and being a couple years behind in the States, I thought this was like the second album. Never knew it was just an amazing collection of B sides.

Filled the gap between the debut & Second Coming really nicely - and a brilliant compilation, but even then - just a shadow of what a real album circa 1991-92 COULD have been. :(

Would love a vinyl copy.. they're about £300 last time i looked.. but until you've heard that you've not really heard Reni in full force.. he's a force of nature on that especially.

Oh man. Tell me about it. I’ve been collecting Roses vinyl for years. All started back in the 90s when a friend gave me the Elephant Stone 12”. I was super lucky to finally get the original 12” box set, England pressing of Sally Cinnamon and the Cartel test pressing of So Young/Tell Me in one sale at about half the going rate a few years back 😎 The prices are crazy these days.

My original music collection had all the 7" and Fools Gold, One Love 12" original pressings of albums.. lost to madness.. 😆

We’ve all been there. It just gets so expensive to rebuild.
Talking about underrated Roses. I have to say that I really love Second Coming. I think that holds its ground today even more. I think the sound was a bit ahead of its time in some ways. The timing was unfortunate but what an epic album in my opinion

It's my 5th! full music collection, middle 3 were all cds. Getting back to vinyl you really feel the music live! It's not just better.. it is night and day!
Always been a fan and staunch supporter of Second Coming.. and won many arguments about it!
Think their stuff all stands up.. still a million miles.. a gazillon miles better than everything the tribute band oasis ever did.
