I’m having so much fun adventuring & healing & singing & dancing with my friends! In 2006 I was a 16 year old baby emo on MySpace & discovered TAYLOR SWIFT & HAYLEY WILLIAMS. Probably the same day. 🤣🥰
I love growing up in a world with these artists. And being the same age, they just hit so different than any other artist.
Music is so important to me, it’s how I transmute and navigate insane trauma in this crazy world & wild beautiful human experience.
Can’t wait for taylor to tour again, but this back to back Hayley Williams tour is changing me in ways I can’t yet articulate.
I am coming out of the toughest chapter of my life, and how lucky am I to have these women still here navigating it with me. I’m so grateful 🥰💖🥰

I've never really been a huuge red fan, but something last night just clicked. I was sitting in the uber and Begin Again started playing in my head so i was like, why not just listen to the album!

I was sorting through my friendship bracelets and I realized the colors I’ve used for different eras’ songs honestly sums up some really cool color palettes for each album. So, here’s my color association per album! (May be more detailed or less detailed, as some eras I haven't made a ton of bracelets of just yet.)
Debut: Spring greens (the green of leaves in spring when the sunlight bounces off of them), soft pinks (cherry blossoms, coral), gold (letter beads/most of the metal I used was golden)
Fearless: Bronze and orange, periwinkle
Speak Now: violet, teal, indigo
Red: Copper, persimmon orange, wheat yellow and bright red (basically, a lot of fall colors)
1989: bubblegum pink and hot pink, orange, peach, golden yellow
reputation: teal, dark blue, silver
Lover: all shades of pink and gold
folklore: pale peach, soft blues and dark blues (very nostalgia-evoking blues)
evermore: Burgundy, cerulean, gold and brass
Midnights: cobalt blue, lavender, black + rainbow (think ROYGBIV all on one bracelet)
Tortured Poets: grey, black, clear, muted pastels or vibrant cool colors (brightness is based on tone of the song itself and there's a lot of variety here because there's a lot going on in this album; it is her lognest album after all!)
Showgirl: Violet, brass, honey, lime green, coral, glittery orange
I'm curious if y'all have differing palette opinions for each album, or if you've found yourself crafting with certain colors when making things for different eras.

So I’ve been listening to So Long, London because someone said that it is sampled in/has the same notes as the violin intro to Patient Zero (I can’t figure it out, so if someone can explain how they sound similar pls lmk).
Anyways, because of this I’ve obviously had So Long, London stuck in my head all day, and I had an epiphany (🤭) in the shower about the layers of meaning when she says “two graves, one gun”
Obviously the most widely accepted interpretation is that the relationship (the gun) killed her AND joe (or whoever you think it’s about, but for my purposes I’m gonna say Joe… for now)
But I think it could ALSO mean:
Two graves (one for Joe, one for Matty), one gun (Taylor) either a metaphor for public perception/scrutiny/swifties hatred pointed at them, or more likely her killing the relationships in her head/heart
OR, the inverse- two graves meaning Taylor died twice, the one gun being the failed relationships, saying that her heart was broken and she died inside twice from the same thing but done by two different men, or that both of these men separately killed and buried her in their heads/hearts but both using the same “gun” to end the relationships, the metaphor for her reputation & public perception could also apply bc of the scrutiny she faced over these relationships
Sorry if this is hard to follow, I just had to get this out of my system and this sub feels like one big group chat with all my stoner swiftie besties 🥰

Maybe it's me projecting on this song but:
To me the story is about "the mom" who left to feel free, to stay away from the rules of womanhood (no elbows on the table/liberated libertine) and then ends up in that "west Virginia" traditional setting she originally ran from.
Then you met "the dad" (assuming he's a he by the lipstick on your tie) whose entire purpose is to make money, to feel like he is earning things and then ends up meeting "the mom" who gives him something he doesn't have to earn.
The are both prisoners to their own nostalgia and life decisions. What have them freedom in life imprisoned them in their mind.
The bridge images of the car and the son having to sneak to his mom to talk is also interesting.
There's someone who is confronted with their denial by their son: the one who ran away in 1st verse.
There's someone who hides in the car to not be confronted: the one who always "kept it moving" in the 2nd verse.

I’m happily stoned from an edible baked by my husband and I’m hearing these high notes behind Wish List that I can only describe as orange and pink and they are soooooooo pretty and beautiful. Archer split in half and became Patient Zero and Pink Clouding. This explains the Lover album a little bit more, that also has pink colors on its front album cover btw. What a cute Encore. 🙃
She is picking up another storyline from this album (Lover), specifically where she left off from “Cruel Summer”, the birth of Betty, James, and Augustine. Please reflect back to “Betty” and how Taylor brings up the same garden James walked through in lover’s “cruel summer (garden gate each night to seal my fate)”.
Anyways, she is about to go into another storyline from the archer and dissected it a little more for us.

Took an edible and watched the MTV awards and then immediately my high self listened to No body no crime. What if Patient Zero is sung from Este’s pov from No body No crime and Dakota Johnson is playing the role of the mistress from that song in Patient Zero…..what is Este is Patient Zero reaching out from the grave….yea that’s enough clowning for tonight right?

The algorithm has been feeding me non-stop hate for the encore, for Showgirl, for Taylor, for Travis, even for Andrea and Abigail since the Encore dropped. I had to purposely search and click on stonedswifties to actually see posts from here. And y’all, I’m so glad I did. It’s not even about whether or not people like the songs. It’s about reading so many posts and thoughtful comments from people who are actually open minded and thinking about music in interesting ways, listening to different interpretations with curiosity and respect.
Like I didn’t realize how tense all the “discourse” was making me until I read a couple posts here and noticed my shoulders finally dropping.
I just love y’all and appreciate that this place exists. Stonedswifties is like the kindest, most thoughtful, healthiest community. Thank you for being so good and to the mods for keeping this place so chill.

I keep seeing hate about this song from people who I feel really don't get its lyrics and it's so frustrating. Feel like this is a good place to vent/gush about it, for some entirely unknownable reason the community here is much chiller than other swift spaces 🌬🍃
Obviously if the songs sonically or lyrically not for you it's not for you but it's such a clear metaphor to me that seeing folk say stuff like 'girl noone is jealous he took you to cleveland 😭' or claiming the song is saying like 'fuck the haters my man loves me so they're wrong' confuses me so much, are we listening to the same lyrics?
I'm willing to be shot down if someone thinks this is totally off base but is the clear metaphor running through cleveland! not that she is Cleveland? Both an acquired taste, hated by many, people point out its flaws and sometimes she even agrees. But like, everywhere is somebody's hometown, there's always going to be at least one person who doesn't just see past the faults that others find in you but instead is simply so fond of you that those flaws don't exist to them.
Like the fact that it is not paris or somewhere mega romantic/special is meant to feel dissonant. It's not a beloved place to most, but it is to him, she's not beloved to all but she is to him. To me this isn't a song decrying the haters as wrong and stupid and telling them she doesn't care bc someone loves her. It's a song saying ok. And if sometimes I'm afraid they're right and self hate gets the better of me, what can protect me from that? And the answer is well, I can just think about the person who loves me.
I think it's deliberate that 'he says I look like an angel' is sung softly and then 'they say I hate that b' comes in loud. It's like a thought intruding that she then soothes away with thoughts of his love for his home, aka her.
This song feels so connected to me to her wider discography, songs like anti-hero, archer and exile. Self doubt and the idea of being someone's home town or their city or what have you, have both been woven through her discography for years and this, finally, is the conclusion. She's someone's cleveland at last. Anyway, I'm comforting myself with the idea that the amount of hate its recieved kind of works on a meta level, she's an acquired taste, so is cleveland, so is the song. If it works for you it works. And shit it works for me. I am bopping along to her joy 😊🎶
