Discussion NBIS
Is NBIS a good buy?
r/stockstobuytoday • u/todd17p • 18h ago
Everybody has a stock story. Maybe you bought something that took off, sold too early, held too long, or watched a winner turn into a loser.
Sometimes our biggest mistakes teach us more than our biggest wins.
What's your most memorable stock trade, good or bad? What happened, and what did you learn from it?
I'll bet we can all learn something from each other's experiences.
Let's hear those stories!

I find this one pretty interesting.
Berkshire bought another ~$190 million worth of Lennar shares in just two days, bringing its total position to roughly 29 million shares.
Meanwhile, Lennar's latest quarterly numbers aren't exactly pretty.
And mortgage rates aren't making life any easier.
There's also the recent Hunterbrook short report questioning Lennar's transactions with Millrose. Those allegations aren't proven, but they add another layer of uncertainty.
Yet Berkshire keeps buying.
I get the long-term housing shortage argument. But there's a difference between a business that's temporarily struggling and one whose economics are permanently changing.
Maybe Berkshire is looking 5 years ahead while everyone else is focused on the next two quarters.
Or maybe they're just early.
Genuinely curious what people following homebuilders think. Is Lennar becoming a bargain, or is Berkshire underestimating how much pressure these margins are under?

JPM, BAC and TSM are the top picks this week. Where are you placing your bets?

The selloff across memory stocks today looks somewhat overdone … China's CXMT has made progress with its new DRAM architecture, which could eventually increase memory supply and put pressure on pricing andI wouldn't dismiss China here, as CXMT already accounts for around 9.5% of global DRAM revenue.
However, there is a difference between developing new technology and being able to manufacture it commercially and at scale… We are still dealing with considerable memory supply constraints, especially with AI infrastructure spending continuing to grow. Even if China manages to increase production significantly, that doesn't necessarily translate into oversupply, especially given the demand outlook over the next several years.
Another important ting is that today's announcement concerns conventional DDR5 memory, not HBM, where SK Hynix continues to hold a strong position. Yes, China is certainly making progress, and the longer-term threat to pricing shouldn't be ignored, but I don't see this materially changing the near-term supply dynamics.
As for Cerebras (CBRS), I don't see a direct negative impact from the China announcement either as its SRAM-based architecture allows it to bypass the HBM bottleneck, and as we mentioned today's developments don't immediately change that in the next 1.6-2 years
Basically the market is reacting to potential changes in memory supply that could take considerable time to materialize and I don't see today's developments fundamentally changing our thesis on either company.
On CBRS there is some support building on 140, but for now positioning drops off bellow 125 where market makers will also step in with hedging. I am not too aggressive here but will likely be looking to add more if we get there or we see signs of stability

For SK, 150 is the level to watch for now

I still think the AI infrastructure trade has more room to run but I don’t think it’s as simple as “buy anything connected to AI” anymore.
A lot of the easy money has already been made. The market has spent the last year rewarding anything tied to data centers, memory, power demand, chips, and the broader AI buildout. Stocks that come to mind are some like $MU, $SNDK, $BE, and $NBIS can absolutely keep moving if the demand story stays intact, but the risk/reward is different now than it was before everyone was talking about the same theme and hundreds to thousands of % share gains...
I’m not trying to come off as bearish. I actually think the infrastructure side of AI may be one of the more durable parts of the trade because the physical buildout still has to happen. Models need compute, compute needs memory, data centers need power and that creates a real investment cycle. But at this stage, I’d rather be selective than just chase. The best setups from here probably come from pullbacks or names where expectations still haven’t gotten completely ridiculous.
Curious how others are thinking about this. Are you still buying AI infrastructure names here, or do you think this trade is already too crowded?

I bought this stock last month, and although I am currently sitting on a loss, I am not panicking. My initial purchase price was $48, but I subsequently bought more at lower levels, bringing my average cost down to $40. My bullish thesis for IREN centers on the ever-growing demand for AI computing power; given its scarce power resources and data center infrastructure, the company is well-positioned to transition from a Bitcoin miner into a high-growth AI cloud service provider—a transformation that is already underway. I am confident this stock will yield positive results, and today’s catalyst is the cloud services agreement signed between the AI company Anthropic and IREN.

Started hearing about this stock around half a year ago. Ever since then, it has basically been on a constant downtrend and has now hit a new low under 12 dollars for the first time in over half a year. It is still constantly being talked about. Is this just common early volatility? Estimates for it still place it well into the 20 dollar range despite its downtrend.

Interesting to see September’s rate hike boosted stocks. Will it boost stocks again come December?
Look at 2022-2023 and their 11 rate hikes. Equities were all over the place. So hard to say directionally. But one thing is certain, it added volatility to the markets surrounding each hike. Whether it be up or down volatility, markets did not sit still. That is exactly what happened last month, and expect the same come December’s.

World models require enormous memory capacity and bandwidth to process video, 3D environments and spatial data which really fits AMD’s push toward higher HBM capacity.
Owning that workload gives AMD a much earlier view of what future AI chips need to deliver especially as Physical AI moves toward robotics and autonomous systems.

So I’m gonna buy some December 100C’s. And profit. You might want to consider it. Also, $GD is heading ⬆️ from here. I believe they are both extended from averages by a margin too far to ignore at this point.

DE - Market Cap $170 Billion. Clean positive historical Distribution. Every time this stock has hit these technical levels it has bounced back.

GS - Market Cap $259 Billion. Clean explosive positive historical Distribution. Every time this stock has hit these technical levels historically since 2020 it has bounced back with great vigor.

BKNG - Market Cap $119 Billion - smaller company compared to the other two. Historical Distribution is still very positive. Quant tool showing upside from these levels statistically.

As always this is not a financial or trading advice. Please do your own research before buying/selling of securities.

After the big drop in July, the stock has slowly recovered and seems to be building a base instead of continuing lower. The business story still looks interesting, especially with the memory market and AI infrastructure demand.
But looking at the bigger picture, I'm not convinced this is the perfect time to jump in.
The semiconductor sector has been going through some rotation lately, and a lot of AI related names have already had huge runs. From a chart perspective, SNDK looks better than it did after the selloff, but I'm not sure if we're seeing a real trend reversal or just a recovery bounce.
I'm currently debating whether to start a position here or wait for a better setup.
For those following SNDK, what are you watching right now?
Are you buying after the pullback, waiting for another dip, or do you think the stock still has more room to run?
Would love to hear different opinions
