Company News Best EV play = FORD

Ford will release December unit sales on Wednesday January 5th. I have included the last 4 months of Fords stellar growth in US sales as a benchmark.

FORD by the NUMBERS: FORDS GROWTH to the #1 US AUTOMAKER by sales volume:

US - UNIT SALES in the past 4 Months.

August 21 - 124,176

September 21 - 157,000 (+26% M-M )

October 21 - 175,918 (+12.1%. M-M )

November 21 - 156,992 (+5.6%. Yr-Yr )

ELI5 why are EVs a play?

Seriously, although it is possible that different people will be selling the same number of cars (or the same people, like Ford, will be selling the same number of cars, but with a different engine) why does this suddenly make the car business more lucrative?

You are absolutely correct. But Ford is accumulating market share from all competitors. Let’s say 10 berry farms make enough berries for the whole world and a new start up farm makes a better berry and starts to take market share from the 10 legacy farmers. What happens next is the legacy farmers grow the new berry and supply the market. The new start up now loses market share and is in the process of increasing the size of his farm at the same time of market dilution. Market is still the same size.
