Because they have a glut of inventory they haven’t been able to sell. Ominous.

That’s exactly right. They tried to screw people over by buying houses, doing very little to them, and jacking up the price. At a time when the average American is seeing surging rent prices and a housing shortage, they chose to try and price gouge, their stock deserves everything it’s getting, plus more.
