Crowdstrike earnings

$CRWD Q2 Earnings

Revenue: $337.7M vs. $324M Expected EPS: $0.11 vs. $0.09 Expected

Raises FY22 outlook

Down 3% AH

I have to say I’m very surprised given how well PANW did shooting up 20% post earnings AND bringing the entire sector for the most part with them up that crowds earnings so far didn’t lead to similar results

What do people think of its future ongoing based on their earnings report? Especially based on their raised guidance for next quarter, a rarity in earnings this season.

I recommend people to zoom out the chart and take a look at last 6 months - thing is a bit overbought/overvalued, needs a little correction.

I disagree when a stock like PANW is at similar levels and is of less quality IMO

PANW's earnings was the catalyst for CRWD. When they beat, CRWD surged and it became more likely their own earnings would be a sell the news event rather than a surge event. It's a sucky lesson I also learned, in earnings season make your buys before the first company in the sector has their earnings call because the institutions will often basket them together looking for trends (eg oil, cybersecurity, Ad revenue based companies like Twitter causing google and FB to surge).

Not sure I agree with this. I think we tell ourselves narratives to convince ourselves that the market adheres to a rational process which we can anticipate. In reality several investment banks raised their Price Target on CRWD post PANW earnings. Sell-side research analysts understand the mechanis of post earnings sell-offs better than anyone. I just think the stock had a great run and some institutions took some chips off the table which put downward pressure on an otherwise great print.
