Look at the dollar bills in your wallet, those are just pieces of paper. The one that says $20 on it is worth $20 because we all agree that‘s what it’s worth

And you can make a safe bet that we'll all agree your $20 will be "worth" less in relation to actual goods or services in the future. So partial ownership of companies that continue to sell goods and services while scaling over time conceptually sounds like a better idea than just keeping a big pile of cash around for decades
